Went to Stanningley for the first time this year and saw a cracker. Widnes opened the scoring on 10mins with a cheeky chip over the line and they took their try well. The second try was appauling, I was stood just near the try line and when Widnes number 6 dropped the ball over the line under pressure from the stanningley centre I immediately thought knock on, yet the ref and linesman awarded a try........?????
Anyway, Widnes look a solid very strong team, credit to Stanningley who despite their size were the more physically dominant team, I was very impressed with their efforts and work rate and some of the tackling was fierce. Unfortunately on the day Widnes defended well and Stanningley just couldnt get over the line. Had Stanningley took their chances I think it could have been a different story.

That wasnt the team the played at Milford, they had numerous players missing.
I was disappointed with Widnes they only managed to complete three sets of six and numerous knock ons and dropped balls occured.
On that form Oulton will finish champions.
With the amount of possession that Stanningley had, they should have got something out of the game, but there again they dropped the ball two many times.
Local derby next week should be a cracker with big crowd.

I stand corrected if thats the case. The team seemed very similar. In all fairness pressure from both aggressive defences caused many of the knock ons and spilled balls.

Watched them both this season. Milford are a better team, but it's on the day that counts.
