they go to a free scoring leigh east next week and could be on the end of a cricket score if they defend that badly down there.

West Hull played well but their defence looks poor too. Losing is bad enough but against a team that is nowt special makes it worse.
No excuse but an 8-0 penalty count after 30mins and allowing Wests to blow us away in the first few minutes did not help!
It was however a toss up who was worse Siddal or the ref who you could see was going to lose control not helped by some of the local spectators getting invoved. He must have decided to even things up in the second half as he upset Wests and he had two adult linesmen who contriuted nothing.
Just hope this is a blip but need to improve to get things back on line and next week will be difficult.
Sure we will be up in the mix come the end of the season and hope West can do the business next week and Saturday was not just a flash in the pan.
Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese
I know no other county where the land is quite so fine
England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine
Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor
And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar
And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be
Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea
So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow
When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go
Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie
'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky

To say there time at the top is coming to an end on the back of one result is just stupid in my opinion, especially when looking at the league table to see Siddal sitting in 3rd just two points off top spot.
I have no doubts that at the end of the season, Siddal will be in contention to win the league and the grand final.

How can you come to this conclusion? Every team has an off day. Siddal will bounce back and be in the mix at the end of the season. It will be tough at Leigh East this Saturday, Gudor in Dubai in the Rugby Union 7's!! and still some big game players out like Luke Simeunovich.

They have and are doing well, for deffo finish in top 6, away form a bit iffy, but home form is superb.any team who loses two brilliant players like Brad Attwood and Shaun Garrod (injured),will have a hard job to find a players to recruit to fill there boots, also missing luke siminovic at the moment.
It will be tough on saturday at Easts, without Lee Gudor too,but i think we are going through a rebuilding time at the moment, im sure we will be in top 6 which is more than i expected and if we are who would fancy a play off match at Siddal.
As for Lee Greenwood if he did not win another match for Siddal as coach he can put his record on the table and say top that, love or loathe him you cannot deny him.
On another topic went to Siddal on friday night for a gentlemans dinner, the guest speaker was ex Leeds and Halifax star Roy Dickinson, hey guys anyone looking for a great speaker and real funny guy he is the man very very funny ,heard he did not leave the club while 5.45 A.M some session .top bloke

our defence was our strength when we won the lot, but we are conceding a lot of points at the moment.funny thing though Mr Chairman apart from maybe against yourselves and Skirlaugh dont think we have put 80 mins together yet.
Anyway Mr Chairman dont think your mate kim is over on Sat but i can ask him if you like

Ive seen all the top sides and i dont think there is a really excellent dominating team. Saw Queens a couple of times last year and they would be top if they were in this comp. Poorish standard this season.

I've played 1st and 2nd team for Siddal this year and played against Queens a couple of weeks ago. Queens are a good team but would be mid table in NCL Prem. I would agree about the standard dropping though, seemed to be a bit quicker/tougher 2 or 3 seasons ago in my opinion. Very young squad at Siddal, 4 or 5 lads around 30 but the majority around 21-25 - plenty of strong seasons ahead.

as for the league i think the standard is great the teams are so well matched now and i think it is good that we do not have one outstanding team or one very poor team ,any team can beat another on its day.
the best team i have seen at siddal this season on there performance was york acorn look where they are

True no 1 wants to see queens in ncl...this years league is the most open for years.think will favour teams at home in play offs strongly

If you look at the league 10 years ago there were maybe 2 or 3 teams who were consistantly at the top and the rest were average. These days since the weakening of the alliance teams at pro level, teams are much more even with quality players scattered throughout the teams. The NCL premier division is probably the closest, toughest, best value for money league in the game today.
Teams in relegation can realistically aim for the playoffs and anyone in the top six have a chance of winning the league up until the final few weeks. Superleague can only wish for that kind of competitiveness.
The level is almost up to semi pro with teams training just as much, players putting the same hours in the gym and the quality of the play just as good if not better.

Over time teams have got better, the league's getting better and the standard is getting better.
Look at the league when it started and where it is now, it is the best value in sport ,look at what you get for £15 to £20 in the superleague and what you get for £2 in the ncl.
And the ncl seems to be run right most of the time instead of the muppets who run the rfl, throwing money all over britain instead of looking after their own .
