I see on the Batley forum most of their league forcasters have us as finishing bottom of the league next season, but having been at the launch night i was very encouraged by what Woodie had to say on the players and the team as a whole, there was a fantastic team spirit for all to see and the lads look to be oozing confidence this can only be attributed to Dave Woods and the rest of the coaching team, although not yet fully fit they looked lean and health and from what D.W said are training well, my only concern was our pack it looked a little lightweight for the championship but with the signing of Barron and Jones they have beefed it up with size and weight which for me was much needed , i have no problems with the rest of the squad pace to burn, inividuual flare and shoulld Chris Thorman play like he did at the back end of the season and the play offs we have a class player who can lead the boys round the park, so beware Batley beware .

Might have heard it wrong, but thought DW reckoned Barron would be
likely to play 2nd row for us, so seems to me like we will be going with
a very big, tough & physical pack.

He may well have Shades, not a bad opption Barron and Clarke may be ? i noted he had earmarked Esders at loose good move for me as i think Ry and Presley will play well together.

I'd go for Ezo at loose, he was a real star there for the Dockers but there is another young man who thinks he might get the 13 berth...

They're not all Batley supporters who think York will struggle next season.
It's a tough league, with any team able to beat its opponent on the day.
For what it's worth, I think you'll do very well to stay up next season. But what do I know? - I thought Batley would make the top six in 2010.

If the French team finish in the bottom 2 do they go down or is it the bottom 2 English teams that go down?, if so we will have to finish higher than 3rd from the bottom.

I believe Toulouse are exempt from relegation for three seasons, the third and final season being 2011.
The earliest season they could therefore appear in CC1 would be 2013.

You're more like;y to see Toulouse being promoted to the SL from last place in th CC than relegated to the C1

From the Dewsbury & Workington boards - hope its correct:
Supporters will be glad to hear that the long awaited 2011 fixtures
for the Northern Rail Cup and the Co-operative Championships are
due to be published on Monday 29th November

I agree.
Except with the word 'promoted.'
'Elevated' would be a better word.
I understand that Toulouse could be invited to apply to join SL without satisfying any of the qualifying criteria the rest of us have to achieve (appearance in Grand Final or winning NRC).
Although being a Batley fan I'm used to non-level playing fields, this one makes my blood boil!

We are under no illusion as to the task in hand and are well aware that there willl be no easy games and as new comers to the the championship will have to treat every game like a cup game but given Dave Woods track record
think we will be ready and able, it would appear we need around 6 wins to stay up not an easy task i agree but feel we have the talent within the side to win games time will tell ( humble pie may be on the menu).

I don't know how true the following may be but it was on another forum last night and although since removed it is on the Halifax site.
It shows the Thursday televised games by Sky - apparently - so I have posted it so we know when we travel to Batley in The Championship.
Round 1 March 10th Leigh v Fev
Round 2 March 17th York v Sheffield
Round 3 March 24th Fax v Fev
Round 4 March 31st Hunslet v Dewsbury
Round 5 April 14th Fev v Barrow
Round 6 April 21st Dewsbury v Batley
Round 8 April 28th Widnes v Toulouse
Round 9 May 12th Sheffield v Leigh
Round 10 May 19th Batley v York
I do not take any responsibilty should it be found to be incorrect.

Being a Knights fan will say yes but it will be a tough season for the lads as this league is actually a very tough league as others have pointed out.

Andy i have this gut feeling that he will be a class loose forward he has the build the pace good hands and defence
and it wont be long before he is back in super league in this position i think he will go well this season.
