I may have banged on about this before Daniel, but I would still like to see a system by which ticket holders can bring along a friend or family member free to a limited number of games. I have a mate - a lapsed supporter who took his bat and ball home during the andy fisher years. He decided to invest his hard earned brass in a local championship football side, and can't be persuaded to part with anything further. I do know, however, he would be up for a freebie. The way I see it, at worst, it's another bum on a seat, and a few quid through the bar - and if he gets hooked, who knows. Maybe the club could announce this concession a few weeks in advance - perhaps when the games are likely to be poorly attended by away supporters (toulouse for example). Another idea might be to allow slips not used for games (unfortunately I missed five last year) to be used as free entry to another match for a mate. Just a thought as a way of introducing fresh support - and what do we have to lose ?

That system is already in place. For the last two seasons, season ticket holders have been able to bring a friend for free to two matches, last year it was both Sky matches and the previous year it was the Sky match and another match of your choice.

I knew about the sky matches, but didn't realise a match of your choice was an option. In the case of thursday matches, this doesn't help much - I have other commitments on thursday evenings, but how many floaters would be bothered to turn out for a thursday night freebie when they can watch the match in comfort at home with cheap ale ? (unless they want to be on the telly of course). Still think making the choice of matches a bit more flexible would be a winner. The only way we could lose out, would be if ticket holders brought a mate who normally paid, and how many of those would there be ? We do need to use every available ploy to get new blood to the club.

Whatever scheme you put in place some people will find a way round it or misuse it. This happens with all marketing offers. But the club either tries to get new supporters or it doesn't.

Back to the fixtures.

I just hope that we get a decent date for the Toulouse game this year as most of us missed out on this cultural experience last year and have a bit of catching up to do.

I'll second that.
