Anyone know of any decent beer with ABV <3% that I can get hold of reasonably easily?

I know some milds have a lower ABV but they're not likely to be stocked at a sensible price in my local Tesco's.

Thanks.

Does it have to be less than 3%?
There are some excellent Belgian Kriek beers that are around 3-3.5% alchohol, stocked by Asda and Morrisons to name but two.

Beer meaning bitter? Not really. Your budget beer lines like Tesco value have lowish alcohol content. Cobra coe to think of it will be your best best, think it's called Cobra Zero (google for range). Lager wise Carling do a CO2 @ 2% but that's about it from the top of me noggin.

Lidstones Rowley Mild (3.2% ABV)

http://www.wensleyda...dale-beers.html

Chocolate and toffee aromas lead into a rich and flavoursome ale for its strength. This is a dark mild. The finish is pleasantly bittersweet.

Almost <3%
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Becks Blue Label - very good for an alcohol-free lager and available in all the supermarkets.

Hook Norton Mild (3.2% ABV)

http://www.hooknorto...beers_home.html

A dark chestnut coloured ale, full of roast malt flavours, and complemented with superb dry-hop aromas from East Kent Goldings.

Close again.

Is there a point to <3% ABV beers? Its very difficult to brew a beer worth supping with such a low alcohol content Might as well have fruit juice. However, one of my favourite beers is Black Cat by Moorhouse (3.2% ABV).

Alcohol-free lager?

What purpose does that serve then?

That's the one I was going to mention, not bad for an alcohol free lager. I once tried Kaliber out of curiosity, never again foul evil chemical mix of flith.

The last government were convinced that we were there to do their bidding. They wasted vast quantities of our money in order to spy on us, intimidate us and needlessly over regulate us, whilst gold plating their own pensions and expenses. Their behind the scenes encouragement of, and turning a blind eye to, the kettling and harrassment tactics of the Police are a shameful episode in our history which we need to remember and address urgently.

How about Mann's Brown Ale?

2.8% ABV

Nose is of burnt, roasty malt and caramel. The first sip is immediately malty, with a gentle roastiness and some caramel sweetness. These flavours continue as a sort of ovaltine-like maltiness, leaving a sweetish aftertaste with a lingering hint of burnt-sugar bitterness. Although at a mere 2.8% it is inevitably going to be quite light bodied, the depth of flavour is nonetheless impressive for a beer that your granny could drink all night. A classic session beer for those who like good old-fashioned malt flavours but don't want to be under the table by closing time.

Sorted.

Get hold of some Nanny State off Brewdog. Just make sure it's the 0.5% one. The 1.1% was their instant response to the fuss over TNP and is pretty undrinkable.

There used to be cans of Morrisons own brand bitter and lager that were less than 3%.

Still a very good beer, but not the magical liquid it was with the old recipe.

I think I saw a load of that in one of those cheapo shops "Quality Save" or something. Might be the one to go for if they've got any still.
