If the table finishes like that i will do the end of season naked run round every league ground in the same day.....On what basis do you come up with that scenario ? out of all the teams and new signings made up to now you have by far the weakest squad by a long long way, and hunslet will finish higher than you, Toulouse will take you to the cleaners twice. Batley live on sky (yes its confirmed) will probably, sorry definately give you a tonking mate. admire your loyalty but lets get real York down without a shadow of a doubt. Im sure you will realise the step up in the early weeks of the season.

So i never said it will be a tough league then, obviously a Batley fan would have themselves finishing higher than York and i also said York will surprise a few people like yourself and my mind has not changed.
I do realise the step up because i watched all the Championship games that were on Sky last season.
With what theory do you think York will just be a turn up and win job for you lot?

Honestly.....yes......im sure the players wont be allowed to take anything for granted but i am afraid you are seriously underestimating a lot of teams who are playing at a much higher level especially with your current squad who have not really strengthened to much from being a play off team last season. I watched York 3 times last season as well as in the Play off final and if that is anything to go by the step up will be a bridge way too far. Toulouse beat almost all the top clubs once last season and to put them bottom of the pile is another massive under estimation of a team who are difficult to play away for starters and who also went to Featherstone, Widnes, Batley and others and won.

Staying on the fence, too close to call, but quietly confident
that DW & co will suprise a lot of teams, just not sure at
who's expense.

Featherstone have to overcome the psychological trauma of 'ending with nothing' from the 2010 campaign.
Halifax have to cope with playing within the salary cap and without their better players who have left for pastures new.
Widnes have to cope with the influx of a large number of new players together with a new coach with the added problem of those players knowing they will be discarded once their 'promotion' to Super League is a reality.
Barrow lack stability and continuity and their superb fans may miss out again in 2011.
Sheffield Eagles have an excellent coach and will punch above their weight, again.
Leigh will rely on dual-registration players. Will be no more of a threat than in 2010.
Dewsbury are the unpredictable lot in the mix.
York City Knights have retained the nucleus of their promotion-winning side. They have a coach who is able to construct a successful side from nothing and as it appears they may be quite happy to adopt a siege mentality I shall jokingly add my name to the list who 'writes them off' while knowing very well that the players at the club will do exceedingly well.
Batley cannot be predicted as I don't know if they have had their players registered,as yet.
Hunslet have a number of good individual players but we won't know how good their coach may be until he stops playing and refereeing.May very well struggle.
Toulouse will also make good use of dual-registration players.
I look forward to offyergo informing me of the betting odds when they are available.

It will be the Knights biggest achievement since re-forming IF the club could escape and manage to stay up in a Division that is full of quality players, coaches and RL teams with long historys within our game.
The step up in standard is.....Vast, let's not fool ourselves here, we are massive underdogs and rightly so judging by the form we showed for the greatest part of last season until Dave took control.
While I'm hopeful we might stay up, hand on heart, It looks a massive task from where I'm sat looking at the strength of our squad, but with Woodsy at the helm, and with his eye for a gem in finding a player or two coupled with the superb team spirit and fitness you just never know, we could just shock a few.
One thing for certain....our home form is the key, we really need to make HS a place that's hard to visit and get a result, us the fans can help out here by sticking with the team and keep the vocal support going for the full 80 mins.
Fingers crossed.

Oh and the best young fullback in the game in Hodgson from Huddersfield giants......dream on mate.
The slug has worked miracles in the past but am afraid there will be no fairytale next season for york unfortunately. i like york actually and do go when i can now and again but really see nothing but a long hard season for them, with the odd shock but also with some good hidings

Why don't we just wait and see what happens once the season kicks off, I too think Batley will be a better side than many think, good coach, strong pack, quick backs and a groud they know best will make them a real tough side. However let all the doubting Thomas's write off the Knights, who cares, we have nothing to lose if that's what they all think. With Woodsy at the helm, some carefuly selected signings and a quiet way of going around pre-season we will in my opinion be a better side than some think, good enough to stay up ? not sure and only time will tell.
look what self belief Woodsy put into that side last season in 6-8 games, unbelieable turnaround and despite what people say about the Grand Final we played a very good Oldham side off the pitch.
Still time for further signings and if Ian Bell returns after his break him and Ryan Esders are up there with some of the best players in this league, need a couple more quality signings, probably 2nd rowers.
Keep writing us off lads.

York will finish bottom.....simple! You are by far the weakest side in the league, you have nothing to offer and are the weakest team that have ever played in the Championship!
You will now drip on some defence of your comedy outfit.........come the end of the season the fact will be proven!

We know where up against it but.....so are your mob, ain't got out against the Hawks as most Hunslet fans will know that, but there seems to be much banging of chests and a higher expectation than that of us Knights fans. A fair amount of you seem to expect that the Hawks WILL stay up and do ok and make a mark in this division, but last seasons superb year means nothing..... sweat FA.
Much as I hope both the Hawks and the Knights both stay up just to prove a point, I really believe that both clubs will struggle to adjust and in the end, maybe fail.
The difference between the CC and CC1 is massive, there ain't no easy games, no Skolars and Thunder here, it's gonna be tough, fingers crossd both side survive.
