It wasn't all Barrow rugby talk, just a couple of Barrow lads taking about Barrow and RL in general. I even forgot to mention about Garry Schofield being brought in as head coach!!!!
Nice guy. I'm looking forward to visiting Barrow soonish and meeting up again. Hopefully during the season so I can take in a couple of games.
I know he has people who knock him, but from what me and my son have seen tonight and from what people who are really close to him say. Great guy.
Long may he be associated with Barrow RL.
Thanks Des for a great night.

We were back over the pond visiting and Des invited Julie, our kids & myself into the board room for drinks and a chat, I was more excited than my kids getting their shirts signed by some of the players, A very nice gesture that he did'nt have to offer but one we were very grateful of enjoying, 10 /10 from our lot.

I don't like Eastenders but I don't keep ranting on about it to people that aren't interested.

Hardly a rant mate and if you are not interested then don't post a comment.
I don't like Des and will continue to say so as and when i like ok or at least until one of his lackeys organises a ban. Pathetic if they do.
PS. Nice to see the new coach gave all the players a ball. Pretty basic stuff that.

Did Des Johnston kick your puppy once or something?
You say what you want when you want. As will I and others. But you might find that many people have a variety of opinions on a variety of subjects.
Why don't you join the board? A fan of 50 years like you will have a real depth of knowledge to impart.

No its not I don't even know the bloke. Its not a personal thing.
BUT from everything I read and here from him it seems to me that publicity for Des is high on his agenda and not just the interests of Barrow RLFC who are being simply swept along on the coat tails of Des and his publicity machine. thats my opinion which I accept may be well wide of the mark but its the way I feel.

which part of "its not a personal thing" is not clear????
I've made my point perfectly clearly.
PS I'm really pleased that you have no problem me posting, thanks.

Judging by the despair and hopelesness of your posts I think he was right the first time
Carry on posting Dave, but Des has put our club back on the map & produced a trophy winning side, we are seeing ground improvments & are planning for bigger and better things, our profile as a club and indeed the town has all rose under Des for that and the brighter future and somthing to believe in I thank him for it.

If it makes you happy, yes, but seen as nothing much makes you happy, does not really matter

My older brother has been a good mate of Des's for a number of years. Part of my opinion was based on that friendship and what he has said to me. The biggest part of my post was based on meeting and chatting with the man. Like I said. It wasn't all Barrow RL or even RL. A good general conversation between 3 Barrowvians.
Best of luck to Barrow RL in the coming season and fingers crossed for Suppa Duppa League!!
