So far as I can work out there's literally nothing surprising that's come out. Various Arab countries want the US to bomb Iran, the Chinese are getting fed up with the North Koreans, Prince Andrew is a boorish prat, diplomats slag people off behind their backs just like absolutely everybody else in the world does.

I could have told you all that last week.

The best thing to come out of it is the Steve Bell cartoon in today's Guardian. The only surprising revelation is that the US government is happy to give 3 million people access to supposedly confidential documents. 3 million people. What did they think was going to happen?

Aye. The Guardian geek was bigging this all up on Sunday like it would be dynamite, turns out its akin to a moderately catty exchange by the X Factor panel

The latest revelation by Wikileaks. The Pope is in fact a Catholic. Sums it all up really.

I agree - it pales compared to some of the valedictory despatches by some of 'our' ambassadors in times past recently aired on Radio 4. Listen here..

A few gems in an article here

I'd love to read what some of those received at the Court of St James have written about us.

Latest revelation - George Osborne and David Cameron are lightweights who are out of their depth.

Seriously, it's almost impossible to predict what will come next.

The one that really shocked me was that no-one liked Gordon Brown and the Americans actively went out of their way to ignore him.

Never saw that one coming.

Money can't buy happiness... but it can buy bacon which is close enough.

They were lucky to have that option.

A pithy retort rolleyes.gif
"it is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it."
