"Know ye also, and rejoice, that by virtue of Her Majesty's County Palatine of Lancaster, the citizens of the Hundreds of Lonsdale, North and South of the Sands, Amounderness, Leyland, Blackburn, Salford and West Derby are forever entitled to style themselves Lancastrians. Throughout the County Palatine, from the Furness Fells to the River Mersey, from the Irish Sea to the Pennines, this day shall ever mark the peoples' pleasure in that excellent distinction - true Lancastrians, proud of the Red Rose and loyal to our Sovereign Duke."
Yes, happy Lancashire Day to all those who wish they would restore the original boundaries - officially - so all the beggars who keep harping on about which towns are in or out will keep the beaks out
btw I didn't need twitter to remind me at all, we are just much more refined and like to give people the chance to rise and shine on a cold Saturday morning before we start shouting from the roof tops

I'd certainly like to see Lancashire's traditional boundaries restored. We could then have Gisburn, Slaidburn, Whitewell, Dunsop Bridge, Delph, Diggle, Uppermill, Greenfield back in Yorkshire where they belong.

Nothing personal, it's just that given the Yorkshire propensity to thrift - you're more likely to find a Ford Orion there!
We Lancastrians on the other hand like to move with the times and embrace new technology. Oh and part with our brass!!

But we wouldn't burn it!
Scrap, fuel, shelter, fur, meat, endtrails for sausages, hubcap for Wigan, that sort of thing.
