Whats all this about foreign films, recent films and worst films when we don't have a thread for the ones we like? rolleyes.gif

In no particular order these are my favourite films of all time thus far......

Green Mile

Tom Hanks film of the late 90's.

Glory

American Civil war film starring Matthew Broderick, Denzil Washington and Morgan Freeman.

Brotherhood

Korean film about two brothers stories set in the Korean war.

Pianist

Despite having a wide range of film likes there seems to be a genre of films here! biggrin.gif Roman Polanski directed Second World War film starring Adrien Brody.

Favourite modern film is probably "The Shawshank Redemption", favourite oldie is probably "An Inspector calls".

Morgan Freeman and Alastair Sim at their best.
On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....

"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

The Quiet Man - Absolute classic

"Well, then. Now. I'll begin at the beginnin'. A fine soft day in the spring, it was, when the train pulled into Castletown, three hours late as usual, and himself got off. He didn't have the look of an American tourist at all about him. Not a camera on him; what was worse, not even a fishin' rod".

Excellent choice but spoiled by the fact that the villains didn't get away with it despite their brilliant plan. Presumably connected with villains not being allowed to keep their ill gotten gains in films in those days. Lke the first Italian Job, or the League of Gentemen.
