Barrow & Skolars away in February in the NR Cup,
thank you the RFL, a lot of common sense in that
considering the usual February weather........

I wish I had kept my Oyster card,now !
I would like YCK to do well in the Northern Rail Cup so despite playing away to the 'best squad outside Super League' it is quite a promising draw to continue our winning run.
Hunslet away in the first Championship game is a perfect start - First home game being televised could require some advertising to fill the stadium.( Good NRC results would help !)
It may be a bit dodgy trying to get to France on the Easter Bank Holiday - if that is when it is.
To finish with 4 home games out of the last 6 games is also very welcome.
I reckon our players will now have an extra spring in their step with their pre-season training.Lots to look foward to and lots of challenges ahead.
Thanks for the fixtures shown,KNIGHTS2009.
(Just need Dave Woods to remain, for the first time in England, throughout the closed/off season at a club he guided to promotion and I shall be more than happy)

What is full NR Cup draw then?
Also, why the hell away to Toulouse on Easter Monday following Hunslet on Good Friday? Surely a game off for Toulouse would have made more sense with games so close together. Also, fares will be at a premium, unless RFL are subsidising organised trips through Members Club.

It also snows in England in November.
Why the 2.00pm kick off on Good Friday against us (Hunslet) did you ask for it with having to go to France for your Easter Monday game.?
Is it too difficult to do alternate home and away fixtures.?

Only flights available unless going from London. Also did find flights for above dates at £130 each. Does yours include accommodation? If so, please PM me with details.

You tried getting a return flight to Toulouse yet before having a go?

I think a club representing the city of York, with it's historic association with the railways, should take the NRC very seriously.
This Player and This Player are friends with our head coach and assistant coach.Should it be possible for someone excellent with the media and press, like Chris Thorman,to have the opportunity to do the blog, and the Community Team to get their hands on the free tickets, the freebies can be distributed to school pupils either related to former railway employees or those who do something in relation to rail safety e.g./answer questions about the 'railway king' George Hudson, from York.
It could increase the fanbase quite considerably.
Not wishing to upset any YCK followers - but just to inform Hunslet fans - the last time a Paul March side faced a Dave Wood's side on the opening day of a league campaign - back in 2008 - was when Dave Wood's side travelled away to the Paul March side.
Everyone had written off the Dave Woods side before the season started but the Dave Wood's side won - and ended the campaign at the top of the league.
In 2008,Barrow were promoted and in 2009 ended up in the NRC Final and won the Grand Final ; they had been promoted behind the Dave Wood's side,( and were coached by a low-profile Australian Dave Clark )

Apologies for any confusion on flight costs, have to consider luggage etc
that ''I'm told we will need'', airport check-ins, paying by c/card etc.
Still don't fancy 240 mile & 4hrs 15mins each way to Bristol
Aiport though Deano - could do London airports with that distance.

RFL must think York supporters and the Club have money to burn for NR Cup, together with trip to Toulouse for evening game on Easter Monday. It is obviously not a random NRC draw as the pools are seeded, albeit more favourable to Championship teams in Pool 2 as only 5 of them instead of 6. To then isolate teams and supporters in February with almost guaranteed cancellations and midweek rescheduling is pathetic. It happened last year big time for most teams and they still have not taken it on board. I for one will not be bothering to the 3 stupid away games mentioned, due to time and cost alone. I also suggest RFL look at crowd attendances from last year compared to when the pre-season Cup was played between local clubs. Even comparing to reductions in the main seasons matches the variance is massive.

Is this just our local reporter using Beatles song titles for headlines ? I am led to believe York toured Russia in 1991 so I am relieved a Russian side isn't in the tournament or we would have had 'Back in the USSR' for a headline.I am grateful we haven't been drawn away against Toulouse in the NRC.
Having read recently about Batley and how they didn't receive much money from the gate at the final because the rent for Bloomfield Road was so high, can anyone confirm the final is to be played there ?
If the prize money isn't so good, does anyone know if another sponsor is being sought ?
In the meantime I shall prepare to be a 'Day Tripper',remind everyone that 'All you need is love',and there may be a 'Hard Days Night' ahead.

Cannot see it being at Blackpool as they have no team. Also, Blackpool Nines will have to be addressed. It's about time we had more finals in Yorkshire anyway seeing that the majority are playing in Championship. Blackpool, Widnes and Warrington have had their earnings. I suppose once Wakey and Cas have got new stadia then they would fit the bill size and facility wise.

The York Nines, revived at HS, might be a nice little revenue stream ?
