I would like to think this would be less likely to happen in the North!
Regardless, it's simply appalling that so many could walk past an elderly man and not at least enquire as to whether he needed assistance!

Yep in Liverpool they would have stopped to nick his wallet....
.......joke, before any of our Scouse friends miss the point. Generalisations are ace!!!

The last government were convinced that we were there to do their bidding. They wasted vast quantities of our money in order to spy on us, intimidate us and needlessly over regulate us, whilst gold plating their own pensions and expenses. Their behind the scenes encouragement of, and turning a blind eye to, the kettling and harrassment tactics of the Police are a shameful episode in our history which we need to remember and address urgently. - Haloman

It helps to reinforce our moral superiority over those self-seeking and non altruistic buggers down South.
Touchy aren't we! Hope I haven't hit a nerve!

Y'see some groups of people are protected and only a bigot would say anything negative about them. And others are deemed "fair game" and negative comments are to be encouraged.
FWIW I find Londoners unfriendly and cold but living there myself made me adopt such attitudes. It's just a defence mechanism from having to live in an overcrowded city.
I certainly wouldn't describe Devonians or southerners generally that way. This could have happened anywhere.

That's a Southern predilection you are referring to there.
Very much frowned upon up here!

Well as Mr Tebbitt so memorably said of the parable of the Good Samaritan, "the whole point of the story is that the Samartian had some money"
