I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up on here yet.

I'm sorry but this leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, why is this great local player being messed about like this, if he was a travelling man would he have been treated so appalingly.
I wouldn't blame him for leaving just like Chris Young has just done. mad.gif mad.gif

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

I WILL SECOND THIS QUOTE. BROADY WOULD HAVE AND SHOULD BE THE 1ST NAME ON THE TEAM SHEET. IF DES THINKS IT COULD BE SORTED WHEN HE GETS BACK WELL HERES HOPING. PLAYERS OF GARY'S CALIBRE DONT GROW ON TREES SPECIALY LOCALLY. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT TO BED WEEKS AGO. GUESS EVERYONE ELSE AT CRAVEN PARK CAN NOT MAKE DECISIONS WITHOUT DES GIVING ORDERS.
GARY WOULD HAVE SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE FOR THE SAME CONTRACT NO DOUBT, WHITEHAVEN WILL BE DESPERATE FOR HIS SIGNATURE. dry.gif

I will probably get slated for this, apparently it was Broady that offered his valuable advice to Andrew Henderson last season when he was in dispute with the club & Des apparently was not too pleased about it.

If this is true it kind of explains Des's stance with Broady.

it's not true at all, he was asked by Mr Henderson to pass on a message to the team which he did and Des took umpage to this.

Never mind Whitehaven, he would be better travelling with the other Barrow lads to Town. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

i was talking to one of his good friends a few weeks back who told me about this but didnt post it as some people on here dont like any negative vibes being posted on this thread and dont like anything that tars the club or des, basically dont like the truth.

Keith mate, if it meant Broady playing for town I'd give him a piggy back up twice a week. Seriously though, it really does beggar belief this one. For once, I think everybody will agree that we all think re-signing Broady for Barrow is a must.............yet I believe the club apologised to him stating "sorry mate, we completely forgot about you"!! LOL. Nothing like making a player feel like hes wanted, eh??? Joking aside, I still think he'll sign for Barrow still but who among you could blame him if he doesn't????

No it doesn't! He's an incredible player and personal disagreements of any kind should have no bearing on his ability to play which is absolutely without question. Season not even started and I'm disgusted at the BoD in general for not getting such a pivotal member of the team re-signed. dry.gif

And why should you get slated for posting something seen as negative when it realistically is? - another example of someone having a valid opinion but being afraid to air it cos of the bullies on here!

(PST = Pre-season tension)

Harpic I am in no means at all supporting the club in my statement, as if to say they are right to not offer him a contract,I meant the total opposite.

I personally rate him as the best fullback outside of S/League & probably better than some that are playing in S/League, he would be the first name on my team sheet any day of the week.

Apologies it you took my statement as opposite to your intention, it wasn't meant that way and am in total agreement with you all the way. He would be the first name on many fans teamsheet - obviously not the one that counts though!
