Well, the thought of seeing Clayton and Oakes playing in the centres is frightening

Why have we released one of our best players?

Some times its nice to have a reason why a player has been realeased, instead of the Hunslet Hawks secrete Service.

If it is for - ahem - "non-rugby related" activities then I don't see why the club has to provide any further details ...
It looks like Matthew Harding or Tommy Haughey in one of the centre spots then ??

He has too many 'outside influences' to make anything of himself. Small fish in a big pond and the sooner he realises, the better for him.

Sounds like an internal disciplinary matter!!!

QE is a talented centre but I have no problems with his departure as long as he sufficiently replaced, my worry is that he is likely not to be. If the club attempts to enter the season with the current centres then we have no chance.

Just look at his track record at every other club for whom he has played. I can't say that I'm in the least surprised - how many new leaves can one man turn over?

dont forget weve got danny ratcliffe who could probably fit in at centre alongside Harding/Haughey/Clayton/Oakes, personally id like to think George Rayner would reconsider his desition to retire - hed certainly do a decent job there as would a certain Hunslet Warriors centre who averages 4-5 tries most matches.

So your suggesting we step up a division lose a top try scoring 1st team player in an instrumental position and then replace him with a choice of 2 full backs or an amateur? If we don't replace him it will be sensless

Tattoo, you know as well as I do what this lads foibles are. He has had so many screw ups and been given so many chances. I thought at Hunslet he'd finally managed to conquer his demons - not to be. Same old Wayne!

josh, and who would you replace him with? There is only one other available centre in the championship that is on a par or better than Q,y and he wouldnt come cheap and is probably out of our reach plus hes lancashire based - id go with the amatuer option, anyone in the Hunslet area knows what the kid can do, his countless tries for the warriors prove that.Yes weve had him before when we were c r ap but playing alongside the present team he would be dynamite.

I've played with him and against him and yes he is a prolific try scorer with real ability, at amateur level. It's a case of too good for the amateur game and not good enough for the pro game. I can think of another Hunslet Warriors player who on paper fits the bill but obviously don't know anything of his situation or demands.
