From Code13 website ...

Barrow, Halifax and Widnes have all submitted their applications for a Super League licence ahead of today’s deadline.

Featherstone and Batley decided against submitting bids, instead ruling themselves out of the running for a three year licence which is due to begin in 2012.

The three clubs submitting their weighty applications at the RFL’s Red Hall head office chose three very different methods of delivery. Halifax decided to take no chances with snow covered roads and arrived by Helicopter, Widnes arrived by a Eddie Stobart HGV and the cumbrian club Barrow sent their application by email.

Widnes are highly favoured to progress to the Super League in 2012 and will replace one Current Super League club in the process, tipped to be Castleford or Wakefield. However Crusaders recent troubles may now put them in greater danger of the drop.
