What a shame, right in the middle of their season and no football to talk about.

To be fair Richie, it's the same old people on that forum with a major axe to grind about any other sport than football. It's those kind of people that prevent a lot of 'floating' fans from attending Holker Street. They can create a really vile atmosphere at times and I know a lot of people who stay away because of it.

Just think, another few weeks and the real stuf starts wink.gif

Completely agree, Steve. I went to one game last season and never again. The crowd or a great many of them are so agressive and biased. I watch RL because I love the game. I always hope Barrow will win but my main concern is to see a good competitive game and mix with others of both sides who love the game.

I wouldn't waste my time on leaving a message on the soccer forum. Most of them seem to be juveniles who can't express themselves properly.

I can't believe how many times the "swear filter" had kicked in!!!!

Clearly a little man with a pack on McCains on his shoulder who likes to watch grown men act like little girls.

I was never the biggest or hardest guy on the field, but I never went down crying from getting a little tap on the ankle.

I'm sure Mr McCain will be on here soon using his "swear filter".

Keep your soccer and I'll keep my footy!!

If you think that's bad you should see some of the bile that's spilt in the direction of Hornets from RAFC fans.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Spotland in Febuary.

I've just won a family ticket to go to a Barrow Soccer game! Never been before and thought it might be a bit of an adventure as even the amatuer rugby games are off - not sure I want to bother having read this - they sound like a thoroughly unpleasant crowd.

As I've said, harpic,I went once last season and the aggression shown by the crowd was unbelievable. I used to go to every game in the 60s. As for the game itself it was 90 minutes of total boredom. It was far worse than rugby yawnion.

Having said that, harpic, give it a try. Maybe I'm wrong and I'll be interested to read your thoughts.

Just read this through - absolutely disgusted. Interesting that the bad rap in sport for many years centred around football hooligans not rugby or any other sport for that matter. Stupid game played by a bunch of jumped up wanna be glamour boys who are softer than santa's beard - never did like football but suffer a certain red and white team for my husband.

I go and watch AFC occasionally. My Grandson like soccer so I take him when they play in the Midlands.
I have learnt to stand well away from the other Barrow supporters as they have a hard core of foul mouthed yobs among them. The language that even the teenage girls amongst them is both homophobic and racist.
Last season I attended the two biggest wins that Barrow teams enjoyed. Castleford in the Challenge Cup and Stevenage in the FA Trophy.
The Castleford game was easily the most enjoyable atmosphere. At Wembley a fight broke out and once again those idiots made me ashamed to be a Barrovian.
