This club really is a basket case under Mike Ashley.
Hughton's done pretty well to get Newcastle to 11th considering where they were when he took over. I reckon they'll drop a few more places before the season's done with.

absolute joke of a club and i dont even feel sorry for the fans because they lobbied and celebrated when they got Keegan when the man was completely out of touch with the game
but you and I weve been through that and this is not our fate.
So let us so let us not talk falsely now.
The hour is getting late
FROM 2004,TO DO WHAT THIS CLUB HAS DONE,IF THATS NOT GREATNESSTHEN i DONT KNOW WHAT IS.

This club is a joke.
Feel for Hughton for me he did a good job got them promoted,11th in Premier League beat there rivals 5 - 1.
Mike Ashley just does not have a clue.
I see bookies favourites at this stage are Martin O Neill and Alan Shearer.

Well, you would, wouldn't you? Sign a three year contract knowing you won't work more than two - probably only one - and pocket the rest as a nice little earner for a lie-in each morning.
All this fuss about the Newcastle job being a poisoned chalice. Sounds like an excellent pension top-up to me.

What a nonsense this is.
Par for the course for Ashley though.

What does Ashley want or expect. They are 11th surely consolidation is priority in 1st season back up. Hughton has got em back in the Prem, they've beaten Sunderland 5-1, they've beaten Arsenal and Chelsea away. It's going to take Hughton more than half a season to build the team he wants.
Newcastle back to laughing stock of the Premier League, didn't take them long.

Well it seems that the man with the experience to "take Newcastle forward" is Alan Pardew??
Alan Pardew to take over at Newcastle
Mike Ashley excells himself again and puts the interests of NUFC and it's fans ahead of his own??

It is believed Pardew became close friends with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and director Derek Llambias when all three were familiar faces at an exclusive London casino where Llambias was managing director.
