They have every right to be confident in my view. Based upon the "Fantasy Rugby League" which Red Hall have implemented they will undoubtedly sail home on this one and rightly so within the rules as they are laid down.

The fact that I bitterly oppose the lack of conventional promotion and relegation is neither here not there - rules are rules and Widnes are the most compliant as things stand now.

I can accept that Barrow probably won't see SL this time around but what honestly bothers me more on this occasion is the poor sods who are booted out to make way for Widnes. It sure as h$££ won't be Crusaders or Harlequins thats for sure. It will be a traditional M62 corridor team that gets the bums rush and (in my opinion) that may signal the end of the line for whoever does face the drop.

In the past the relegated club has (in rent times anyway) regrouped, reinvested and fought their way back into the top flight (on the pitch). This time a quick return isn't possible so I think the relegated club (whoever that is) will be in for a long hard few years before they regain their feet. I worry that they may never regain them and end up folding.

It's a bloody joke Keith.
It looks like a 3-way fight between Cas, Wakey and Salford.
All established clubs with history and tradition.
Cas and Wakey in particular have excellent support and Salford's isn't too bad.
Quins and Crusaders have pathetic support but it does not seem to matter in the eyes of the RFL Gods !
I'm not sure what will happen though because Salford, Wakey and Cas have all got the go ahead for new stadiums. It wouldn't surprise me if nobody gets the boot but Widnes still go up. What a farce.
Bring back promotion and relegation.............2 up 2 down. Its the only way to win back the trust of trhe supporters !!!!
