SOUTHERN RUGBY LEAGUE CONFERENCE CLUBS HELP DEVELOP THE CODE IN LATVIA
Monday 6th December 2010
Kevin Reith, chairman of Hainault Bulldogs, has agreed a two year contract with Latvia RL to be their coach, starting with preparations for their participation in the European Bowl in April 2011. Kevin’s close friendship with Latvian RL president Vilmars Sokolovs was the key to him accepting the role and he commented that he was, “excited by the challenge ahead and looking forward to developing the raw talent available in the country.” St Albans head coach Shane Rampling, who led the Centurions to the Harry Jepson Trophy in the RLC Premier Grand Final in 2010, has also agreed to come on board as an assistant, bringing additional experience to the team who are looking to cause a few upsets next spring.
As well as coaching the national squad, Kevin and the Bulldogs are looking to strengthen the foundations of the grassroots game in Latvia by offering assistance and advice to clubs in areas such as administration, branding and publicity.
