Fantastic news Steve,
This fella's got some brilliant idea's, And will be a superb replacement for Nigel....until his prior commitment's are finished. Well done Garry for getting this guy down to Craven Park.Fitness was definately the key figure why we didn't do as well last season, as we did the season before. Dave Clark and Dean Marwood copped a bit of flak, but they certainly kept the lad's fit. Most of the lad's have there own fitness regimes at home these day's anyway.

It seems fun that Nigel Wright has not come yet and he's not done any interviews in the media to confirm his position or is it a smoke screen from desmond ?. why has dean marwood turned down the assitants job recently ?. On marwood of course the youth arn't up to Championship level around here because nobody can be bothered to help develop them properly.

Quote from evening Mail article .... "Schofield does have a link with the local youth game in the shape of Dean Marwood, who has come back on board as one of his assistants."

And I was on about your quote "why has dean marwood turned down the assitants job recently"
If the Mail story is true, he hasn't turned down the job, he's done the exact opposite.

So the mail is always right then steve and marwood must be doing the job instead of Wright then !!!!!!!

I WAS TOLD THAT marwood HAD TURNED IT DOWN BY A VERY GOOD SOURCE LAST WEEK.

Seems alittle strange that Nigel Wright hasn't been seen yet.I know he has other commitments, but to hear nothing from him is strange.
But saying that I do like the look of this guy.Seems to have a really good knowledge of sport science and fitness training.

I'm sure he will get the players fit and prepared for the up coming season.

I get the impression that Dean will be Schoey's link to the amateur game. In the article it said that he was 'one of' Schofield's assistants. That role wouldn't be as time consuming as his role has been in the past. I think Wright is going to be the assistant that will be second in command.

Dean attended youth meeting on Monday last week and open age meeting this week, to get the veiw of all amateur clubs to try and build bridge's between the pro and amateur game. i think their going to release something in the next few weeks . Sound's good what Dean has had in mind, i hope Dean dose get involved, i think he's the right man for youth set up and lets hope the board back him 100% for the good of rugby league in the town smile.gif

I don't think there is a more enthusiastic guy about Rugby than Dean, I think this is a step totally in the right direction, in that first things first, the Club try and develop a good relationship with the local game. A "Them and us" does not work, In a relatively small town like ours everyone needs to be singing off the same hymn sheet if there is to be continued growth and eventual success.

I do hope that the BOD support Dean, his work, ideas and decisions. His enthusiasm should be embraced and with that the Club and the Local kids can only benefit from it and we can embrace the tremendous local talent we have.

hope i am wrong here but i reckon nigel wright will end up at harlequins but by the sounds of terry clawson the club will have no problems and could end up with a better aquisition, either way it should be a cracking season ahead for the followers of barrow
