were looking good, with a good blend of youth, experience and for the first time in a long time a pack that others are going to fear.and you missed karl Olstrum who can play centre or loose, and could be possibly our best signing along with matty.

I thought for ages as I thought I had missed somebody. My apologies to Karl who I think could be one of our best signings, wherever we play him.

Its been quite a while since we had a skilful ball player at 13, the past few incumbents have been good solid forwards but with little creativity. At times this has caused us problems, if the opposition manage to neutralise our pivot of 6 & 7 then we had nowhere to go and had to rely on individual pieces of skill to win games. If Karl is indeed a ball player then we will now have another option opposing defences will have to think about.

Hya DKW,at training last night there 3 people who stood out and they were the youngest ones there.I can tell you now that the three were, olstrum, miller, mattinson, they looked really good young athletes and stood out by a mile,i can tell you now that karl is a really good ball player and i think he will be the perfect fit for the loose forward position,he has a good pair of hands and the build of him for a young fella is spot on,elliot miller is also a young man i think 20 year old and he is built just like olstrum and when they were hitting the bags you could feel the impact from 4 yards away.I will now mention young matty, what a fit sod he is,he was a yard or two faster than his team mates and when he was hitting the bags he had the same impact has his two marra's,i am just waiting for the games to start and see these 3 in action, jacko was there but he has not had his operation yet and i think he will not make the haven game, but lads like coward, stacky, and big ginge all looked fit and i was impressed by big shackly by his size he is a big lump of a lad who i think is going in the back row and that gives charlo and oggy the option of big shackly going in the front row if needed. All in all we are setting a good foundation in the squad and the camaraderie of the players is second to none,if any player wants or needs any encouragement, then from what i have seen over the last 4 weeks they will get it from them lads,it's a pleasure to be among them lads at training. happy.gif happy.gif happy.gif

Cheers Trouty, all sounds good to me. That pack we have now is a big one, I doubt they will be bullied by any other team this season. Looking forward to seeing Karl play, heard nothing but good things about him from people who know.

Don't know about Jamie, Backy is playing amateur - a bit sick of travelling I think, Dutts injured and doesn't like the travelling. James Finch suspended until February and Liam Finch out injured for 12 months.

Maybe us having so many from the Furness area is why the friendly match seems to always be at Barrow?????
