Err no it isn't.

And you have evidence of this, or is it a load of right wing press headlines about "them" being given cars/houses/preferential treatment ?

Drive arounfd Bradford City Centre at night. it's full of cars driven by young ethnic-Pakistani moslem lads speaking to each other on hand-held phones. The cars cross lanes and turn left or right without signalling. All this is captured on CCTV and 300 yrds from the main Police HQ. I have yet to see one of these cars being stopped by the police.
Do I think I could do the same thing and not get stopped by the police? No.

Telegraph & Argus July 2010:
... four parts of Bradford are among the ten worst in the country for uninsured driving.

They are BD3 in fourth place, Frizinghall and Heaton (BD9) at six, Girlington, Manningham and Lower Grange (BD8) at seven and Great Horton (BD7) at eight.

The figures show three areas of Birmingham as having more uninsured vehicles than Barkerend.

In 2008 the Bureau revealed nearly two-thirds of car owners in Barkerend, Bradford Moor and Thornbury did not have valid insurance.

I dont know, but wouldn't mind betting that those three areas of Birmingham also have proportionally-high populations of ethnic-Pakistani moslems.

This 2001 document by GV Mahony throws more light than heat on the problem. To my impression, there has been no significant improvement in the interim period.

Have you ever tried?
I'll bet you would have as much chance of being prosecuted

And the Labour Party and other British organisations of the left, finally accepting that Stalin was actually a mass murdering tyrant, somehow isn't revisionist ignorant rubbish? huh.gif

Or does hindsight only cut one way?

That feels a lot like "the belief that races have distinctive cultural characteristics determined by hereditary factors" to me.

No, you are choosing to interpret things that way. I can't see any reference to genetics anywhere.

I have a friend that has been prosecuted for being on a handheld phone whilst driving. I have a hands-free device, costing £40 ... why can't those ethnic-Pakistanis get one as well.

And I would be more interested in seeing what other common factors are shared by all ten other than ethnicity, like maybe oh I don't know, employment, income and social deprivation[i]
That's why they are driving cars that are worth £3000 - £20,000 or more. They include Range Rovers and the like and very rarely include old bangers.

No, you don't and that's the point I was making.
You're the one who doesn't know anything about social conditions and race relations in northern industrial towns ... unless you read about it in the Guardian

It's actually a belief that one particular ethnic group has distinctive cultural characteristics determined by tribal factors.

what distinctive characteristic does your particular ethnic group have that are determined by tribal factors? You seem to be an expert on one, you should be able to give chapter and verse on your own.

THe EDL have withdrawn their invite to Pastor Terry Jones after finding out that he holds some controversial views!
With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

That's what I thought. It WAS 80 years ago after all, so I could't see the relevance.

Then I thought, well maybe Weary Rhino is anti today's German Govt on the same basis - i.e something Hitler did or said 80years ago, or maybe anti today's Russia because of what Stalin did all those years ago, or anti the Fifth Republic because of Louis XVI

Plenty of people* have expressed "outrage" with RU over the perceived actions of the French RU in WW2 so it's not such an extreme position.

Why would the actions of an Austrian Nazi make me anti-German or a Georgian madman anti-Russian?

You see the point is the Daily Mail is the same now as it was 80 years ago. Right wing, reactionary, racist. Whereas the point you were tying to make is nonsense because Germany, Russia and France have changed.

Of those 4 - I'm afraid I'm only a Marxist and only then in a sociological sense.
