Ok then, let me ask just one question. Who's fault is it that the website's content is so poor?

The way I see it the only two meaningful inclusions are from people outside of the club, being Mr Rigg and Mr Spellman.

The club of course. Id like you now to tell me where i say whats happening with the website is good.

Schizonamy started this discussion in a positive and thoughtful manner to generate ideas. And continued in this way. It degenerated in my opinion away from that.
Im just trying to say that if we have ideas they dont have to go hand in hand with an all out attack on everything else about the club because for once I feel many good things are happening.

And all the efforts of the club require help from fans like Riggy and Spelly cos I for one cant be a*£ed and havent got time.

Equally i will add I am not and never have been a joiner in. Ive never been to any meetings, never met John or Paul personally nor ever been a member of anything other than the Trust whom I make a regular monthly financial contribution with my dad,but have never been to any meetings. I am not a member of any "inner circle."

Im just a happy fan.

I think we have to distinguish between presenting information and presenting it in a "timely" manner.

Some of you know I'm a big fan and season ticket holder of the New England Patriots. They have a superb website with timely info in every respect except one, that is they don't announce personnel info etc until it's a done deal.

Often we will read news about signings, injuries etc on ESPN or the NFL site way before the club announces it officially. The same with the new stadium plans in 2000. Sound familiar?

This is just the way they do business, no announcements until the deal is done. I've learnt to live with it! Three Super Bowl wins in 10 years helps!

Having said that, I thought the Lions 2010 site was a huge step forward. Hopefully 2011 will be too.

One other point, the club does have a World Pay facility that I have used the last two years for my shirt sponsorship. It has worked well. I just contacted Ryan by phone at the club and we walked through it in no time using my credit card. It's a big plus for me.

I'm looking for a great year in 2011, Patriots to win the Super Bowl in February, Man U the EPL in May and the Lions promotion in September!

See you all in September, if not before!

By the way, Jonty, being exiled in New England, and Vermont specifically, is no exile at all!!

Mark nobody but Phil knows who the "inner Circle"are, maybe it would be better if we had a magic one instead, then all the clubs woes could be dealt with in one trick.
Roll on the season and roll on promotion.

Yeah Alan I think its a presumption of what we have written rather than the actual reading of it thats the problem.
If we boil it all down we all want the same thing its just a different way of expressing it that seems to be the issue.

I agree we all deep down want what's the best for swinton lions, I just get frustrated when some of the time the best thing for the lions dosent happen unsure.gif

A club such as Swinton should be examining ALL avenues by which it can maximise publicity and assist its income streams. And in the modern communications era in which we live, an up to date and fully functional web-site is clearly ONE important avenue by which it can aspire to this.

So the real debate is whether or not the web-site is fit for purpose. If yes, well done; if no, are shortcomings being addressed.

I sincerely hope that what appears at www.swintonlionsrlc.co.uk is not the 'new' website, I hope it's a transitional shop front to the club.

When the website was down some people moaned and moaned and now its back some are still moaning !!

It is not finished yet so WHY all the negative comments .

The web designer is testing pages out so yes there is old info on there soon to be replaced by new .

Come on people get behind the club .

See you all at the Willows on Friday !

I think it looks good, clean and crisp layout.

Leigh's still has last years squad pics and players on their player profiles!

I especially like the weather bit, now i know what factor sun cream to wear for the match smile.gif
