woudnt mind betting if thats whats going to happen as swinton lions have a big announcement at a meeting this week regarding a new ground
Now If i recall correctly all the club has suggested will happen at that meeting is the launch of the new kit, a race night and an update on the Agecroft situation.Certainly not a big announcement!!!
Julian I am sure you posted this with all good intention but when people read this and then don't hear of the " big announcement" straight away it will be comments of " The bloody Kidds let everyone down again".
Why not wait and see!!
no wonder the club gets cheesed off!

"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."
Either the club needs to provide a running commentary on the state of play, or if it wants to do staged updates must live with rumour and speculation filling the gap. Such is life. While you can try to censor things on commonly used websites, you cannot go around every pub and workplace in the locality and tell all the rumour mongers to put a sock in it.
There is no pont fretting about a throw away comment here or there, particularly if the truth of the matter is a good story to tell about worthwhile progress being made. The day to really worry is when nobody is interested. You need to trust people's intelligence to recognise speculation and rumour for what it is.
It is fair to ask what contingency is in place for 2012's home venue, should the Agecroft site not be developed in time and the Willows be demolished as planned. If we are being honest with ourselves, in our heart of hearts even the blindingly loyal hard core support must recognise that getting Agecroft up and running in that sort of timescale is at best exceedingly optimistic and at worst totally unfeasible. Given that many of John Kidd's target dates have not been met in the 4.5 years since the idea was first announced, this has to be a reasonable concern.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

I think it's fair to say that the timescales associated with the potential build in Agecroft are the last thing people would worry about in this situation. The main objective would as per Salford's new ground to see the site being actively worked on and that progress is in motion. We have been homeless for over 18 years nearly now so 1 or 2 years 'on the road' would not deter me if I knew there's was bright shining light at the end of the nomadic tunnel.
Let's hope we all get some positive news on Wednesday, I like you Phil wait with baited breath as to the projections of John Kidd, but as is life that we must remain optimistic but realistic at the same time.
Eat 'Em Lions!!!
