The weather, temperature wise, isn't too bad for Boxing Day with a high of 5 degrees but with rain or sleet. Chance of snow showers PM on Xmas Day and a low of -1 through the night into Boxing Day. So, with a bit of luck we could have a game.

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

You have no chance Keith. Has been below freezing for ages now and a look at BBC weather for next five days gives highest day temperature of 0 and warmest minimum night temperature of -5. Temp at Annie Pit bears no resemblance to what it is like down Coach Road!!! Hopefully Santa will fetch you some pressies to fill in the time on Boxing Day as we won't have any rugby to watch.

It was - 9 deg this morning when I left my house at the beautiful suburb of Annie Pit ohmy.gif I always thought the coach rd would be a few degrees warmer with it being below sea level (or is that mirehouse ?).

Looking at the forcast for the next few days there appears to be no chance of the game taking place. Would it not be sensible to call it off now and give the players and fans a chance to make other arrangements over the festive weekend ?

Apparently two alternative dates are Monday, 3rd January (it's a Bank Holiday) and Sunday, 9th January if the match is off on Sunday. Even with temperatures slightly rising it isn't going to thaw out the ground before Sunday.
