UKIP does not appear to me to be a party full of xenophobes, unless this is some new definition of 'xenophobe' of which I was hitherto unaware.

The BNP and UKIP are both parties that are full of racists as far as I can see.
There may be a difference in definition, however even this is debatable, but in reality there is no difference at all.
You can't see a difference because you don't know what either word actually means.

It can buy you beer and that's a bit like happiness in a glass!
"I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals."
Sir Winston Churchill
Some folks are wise and some are otherwise!
Tobias Smollett
"I distrust camels, and anyone else who can go a week without a drink."
Joe E Lewis
"Look at the ffing state of that"!
My mate on the Avenue last Friday whilst pointing to a scantily clad young lady and spitting a mouthful of beer out!

Oxford Dictionary definition of xenophobia: intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries.
If you showed a UKIP member a a blue flag with 12 gold stars in a circle on it, you'd get the same reaction as if you'd shown a cross to a vampire.
While we're on definitions:
Racist: a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.
Pretty wide difference there from that of a xenophobe.
Money can't buy happiness... but it can buy bacon which is close enough.

there is a diference, but they are both equally malignant, ignorant and prejudiced.
I suggest you indulge in some introspection whilst repeating the word 'bigot'.

that doesn't make them xenophobic. it just means they want to be kept separate from europe politically and financially.

I think there may be some flippancy in this post.
UKIP members may well react angrily to the EU flag, but not because of xenophobia, as you well know, you rascal.
The fact that Nigel Farage married a German lady, and has 2 German speaking children would rather destroy the xenophobe tag, I think you'd agree.

Yep. Again, a rare point I agree with you on. Farage is a "little Englander" at heart but not really a xenophobe but I do not know one single other UKIP member who is anything other than one. Some of those involved in local politics are outrageous in their fear of anything different to the environment that they grew up in. I suppose it'd be more correct to call them change-ophobes!

It's great to learn from other cultures etc, but just because the scum who attacked me we're Pakistani doesn't make them all scum.

And quite a good one, thanks, but the trouble is you don't debate the actual point.
You just make broad generalisations about the members of this forum. Come to think of it, a bit similar to the broad generalisations racists make.

That's good to know. But then, unlike some, I don't claim to have any special insight that enables me to read other people's minds to brand them as racists. That's a very special ability.

Well said. I've learnt a great deal about, and from, other cultures. I'm willing to bet bet I've travelled more widely to Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and animist lands than almost all the posters on this forum who think they can lecture me on the 'racism' they were taught on their miserable 'diversity' courses.

In order to obtain this insight, you need to go on a course for 're-education'. They tend to be most effective on those that didn't have a real education the first time around.

I've been a member of UKIP for 15 years. I've lived abroad (and preferred it to England). I have a daughter who's half Pakistani heritage and a Spanish national. I have plenty of good friends who are 'furriners' - more than many on this forum - the benefit of living in London for twenty-five years? I believe that nations should work together.
But I f'kin hate the political institution the EU (as do tens of millions around Europe).
Apparently, to plenty of fellow forum members I am a xenophobe and a racist.
Some of you need to reel your f'kin necks in.

Nothing wrong with hating the EU, think a majority of the UK population are against it and as we aren't a farming country it's bleeding us dry with excessive regulations, bailouts and farming subsidies and giving our limited number of jobs away driving the pay and conditions horribly down. Nothing against a common market, but we don't need or want a virtually non-democratic, over bureaucratic superstate. Nothing xenophobic about wanting what's best for your country (short of what's best being exploiting another country of course)

Don't worry, we make exceptions for your comments to Exxile. As you are obviously superior enough to cast homophobic comments ironically.

No, you'd think that certain posters would have it off pat by now, wouldn't you? Given that they rely on it so much.
How's tricks?
