Douglas Adams' superb creation Dirk Gently Is hitting the small screen tomorrow night (Thursday 15th December) in a pilot for a possible series.

The books are a superb Adams off the wall sideways look at the world and its possibilities.

The makers are not trying to replicate the books but are basing a short story on them with the hope of commissioning a series.

Some quite good bits and some very good bits, fell a little flat in places. Overall, a good show for a pilot.

Its seems to me that the title role was made for Alan Davies

So I take it it was ok.
I decided not to watch, mainly because of the way the HGTTG movie was done, ie fecking badly and an insult to Douglas Adams.

Wires record breaking 10 match run: L 16-17 ; L 34-36 ; L 24-44 ; L 20-38 ; L 8-46; L 14-26 ; L 20-40 ; L 22-48 ; L 14-20 ; L 8-60. Thanks Jimmy.The Glamour Club. Apparently.

Not read any Adams so I had nil expectations.

The pilot was wafer thin and very patchy but not unwatchable. My guess is that most Adams fans will be disappointed.
