well if Batley could nick it last year then we must have a shout, be nice to add more silverware to our trophy last year...
By the number of replies it appears unlikely........

Cant see it mate, and to be honest its a mickey mouse competition, we need to concentrate on our main aim, staying in this division!!
Id take staying up all day long over winning the Northern Mickey Mouse cup in Blackpool

Hawks having a good run in the so called 'mickey mouse comp' and stopping up, is as likely as 25c temperatures in yorkshire on christmas day!

Until you win it of course then its the best thing your club could have ever done winning the great trophy, ask any Batley fan.

Agree with you on both points,Gaz. Northern Rail is a mickey mouse cup and as long as we stay up that will do me.

Its a mickey mouse cup ?? i dont agree its the only cup competition anyone outside Super League can win, without it there is no knockout competition. It also gives a potential route to Super League for qualified clubs, and it give a good weekend away and a decent crowd for the finalists to play in....add to that the extra revenue that clubs get from it and finally the games the fans get to go to before the season starts.....so no I prefer having it than not............now back to the original post................NO I donnt think Hunslet have a chance No....long hard season for you lot

I dont think we have much chance of winning this trophy to be honest, Ipersonnally dont view it as a Mickey Mouse trophy, its always nice to pick up some silverwear, ask any Batley fan. I only hope we survive the forthcoming season in the championship and hopefully attract some more supporters down to the SLS. That is what I'll be asking Santa for this year (oh and Kate Garraway's mobile number) I've been very good this year Santa

Its a knock out competition that if a team performs on there day most championships clubs could win, its no different to the Play Off's, thats a cup competition, the true champions of the league are the winners of the league as everyone plays each other home & away and has no advantage over each other. Last year i see Featherstone the true champions & Halifax winners of a play off competition. But then again Sky tells us differently that Halifiax were the best team.
One change i would like to see is the final played at Wembley at the challenge cup final, this would give the RL more chance of selling out Wembley and would be more of a special occasion for the Championship teams
