Tommy would have been 96 in January and has had ill health for quite some time. He was a life long supporter of the Club and some years ago was time keeper. Until recently he rarely missed a game, home or away, and that included trips to South Wales, London Skolars and Toulouse.
I understand that in his younger days he was a useful rugby player and footballer.
I'm not sure but I think the funeral will be between Christmas and New Year.

This is indeed sad news, Michael. As you well know Tommy was not only a great follower of the club he also contributed enormously to the club financially in the club's times of need down the years and sought no publicity at all for this.
My sympathies to all Tommy's family and close friends.

It tells a different story in today's rag. Said it was well attended by players and staff?

As I said not 1 player turned up.

I didn't say they were correct in what they were saying, did I? To be honest, half of what the mail prints is either stories from on here or the official website, yet they seem to think that constitutes journalism.

However nowadays I send stuff to the web-site and Mail at the same time. Obviously it is going to appear on the official web-site first - or should I give the Mail a "scoop"
Believe it or not, not that many people browse the web-site and this forum compared to the Mail circulation and those that listen to Radio Cumbria.
This week:-
Gave the news that the cross code challenge was called off a top half of the back page.
Update on Zeb - main back page story.
At least three recent mentions of the items for sale in the shop.
Look at how many back pages we have had - and we are not even in season yet.
They are on to the coach, Chairman and some of the players regularly and as far as I am concerned they do a great service for the club.
Yes they will get things wrong but give them a break now and again will you.
For info. they are presently working on the pre-season "pull out" and I can tell you that if the soccer got 12 pages and we only get 6 it is down to one thing - the soccer pulled in 6 pages of extra advertising.
Chrsitmas rant over.
