Couldn't be bothered to be on here recently as I am on annual leave this week, and next. How is everybody?

I would be but I foolishly ordered everything from Amazon two weeks ago hoping it would all be here by now. Thanks to the snow in Scotland, it's nowhere near to me and I go away tomorrow which is frustrating. Like Margo from the Good Life, I am regretting ordering Christmas in a van ph34r.gif

Just waiting for my son to arrive so we can embark on the traditional Laurel and Hardy-esque farce of trying to transport a 9 foot Christmas tree in a car.

Shame you don't have a mate with a roof rack on his van who'd be willing to do you a favour....

Never thought of that biggrin.gif

Somehow it wouldn't be the same without the farce though.

I always put the tree up. For years I used to fill a bucket full of soil to put it in. This involved making a right mess and watching nervously for any gradual deviation from the perpendicular over the next few days. Then a couple of years ago I bought one of them bases with four bolts to secure the tree. Best thing ever! Done in minutes and no mess.

I don't decorate it though. That's best left to the womenfolk.
