The grounds rock hard and with plummeting temperatures all week there surely isn’t a cat in hells chance of the game being on is there?
Are there any plans to play the game at a later date, as its surely going to be off?
I presume Dewsbury wont have any covers, so no chance of switching the game there?

So are we going to ask for some compenstation off Rovers (if they still have them) or the RFL?

they werent there saturday morning, and the pitch was like a frozen wasteland, wont make any difference now even if they are on, the frost was well and truly set in on saturday, and it isnt getting any warmer this week.

Wasn't it previously stated in the BN; clarifying that the RFL had issued a direction to Feth to hand over THEIR pitch covers to Batley Bulldogs?
we had lodged an earlier request to borrow them or is simply that the BARLA national cup final and Feth's festive friendly is more important than a lowly old heavy woolen derby?
Karl cheers now move on the KEAR IS HERE!

Surprised Featherstone where not contacted by the RFL to inform them on the 16th November that Batley would be using the RFL covers for the Boxing Day fixture.
Did Batley contact the Featherstone club before the three vans where sent to arrange the collection of the covers or just turn up with the three vans?
Still a few days before the Boxing Day fixture. Is there still snow on the pitch which could insulate the pitch to some extent until the RFL deliver the covers? Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th are both bank holidays so the fixture could be moved if the pitch could not be fit for Sunday but fit for the beginning of next week.

Compensation from Rovers??? How do you work that one out??? "If" they granted Batley permission to use them, surely it's up to bona fide 'identifiable' personel from Batley to collect them and the RFL to advise Fev before they were laid out on the pitch at Post Office Rd!!!
Lowly?? Gi'oer now with the downtrodden poor relative. This century, it could be argued that Batley have had a much better time of it than Fev have!! We're all in the same sheeite pool owd cock! We're all lowly!!!
Not the best episode all round!!

Some things are a matter of life and death, but nothing is more important than a Heavy Woollen Derby.
The trouble is that you can bust a gut trying to keep the pitch fit to play, but if the safety man then says that the steps aren't fit to stand on because of frost or snow then the outcome is the same, no match.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a change in the weather, its the only hope.
Does anybody know if there are plans to re schedule if Boxing Day is a wash out?

A decision has been made by Rob to remove the covers on Wednesday morning. Any help in removing the covers would be gratefully received.
If you either don't want to help or can't help that's fine, if you can just call in around 10.00 and if it's as cold as it is today then bring gloves and warm clothing
Thanks
Above postes on Fev message board.
Is that it then for boxing day?
Would Kevin come on and give us a clue? Even if it's just to say the fixture is still on at this stage.
I really hope the game can go ahead and don't think the speculation (which I'm part of now) can be good for people who must now be thinking of planning something else for boxing day.
Cheers

If so, what is happening to them? Are they being brought to Batley?
Personally I would think it is a bit late now, the frost is probably too far in the ground and with sub zero temperatures forecast for 24 hours a day till Boxing day I cannot see how it will thaw out.

With little increase in those temps forecast there is absolutely no chance of the game going ahead unless the forecasters have got it spectacularly wrong and we;'re all running about in shorts n flip flops sunday morning!

Probably the most sensible post in this whole thread.

They've been taken back to Red Hall by the RFL, and both clubs have been told that if they can't share, then none of us are having them
Nah, got no idea whats happening with them really.
