just been hearing and reading Vince Cable commented to undercover Daily Telegraph reporters ,he could quit the coalition if they push him too far.
He said Cameron wanted to reduce or stop the oap winter fuel payment.
The cracks are appearing in the condem coalition.
If Cameron sacks him will it cause a bigger split?

I think whichever way you look at this, this Lib Dem/Con coalition is likely to be disastrous for the Lib Dems and all because they have sold their souls for 15 minutes of notoriety.

Once this years bank bonuses are out of the way do the Tories need him? He's served his purpose as fall guy for two of the most unpopular items on this years agenda for the government.

Not sure they've sold there sole, but they certainly appear to be very niave in some of the decisions they've made, plus I'd imagine they have few friends amongst career civil servants who'll be doing them no favours.

It was the tory daily telegraph that did the dirty work .There is no let up with the tory's setting the libdems up to take all the flak meanwhile they are doing ok
but you and I weve been through that and this is not our fate.

Too late for Vince and all the Lib Dems. All the credibility gained pre election was lost the minute they went with the Torys. Ever since they have flip flopped on the things they stood for and have been the punching bag for the general public's ire against the conservative policies.
Here's hoping they are deserted next election, with any luck labour will gain enough to get back in.

It could happen in six months time and I hope it does.

The current Business Secretary of the United Kingdom is full of self importance? I think that is justified isn't it?

Cable is a joke. He attained most of his “credibility” by being amiable and witty on TV and radio and providing good soundbites, and not through the content of what he said; although when compared to the rest of the libdems he of course did appear credible.

Cable and the lib dems are now being seen as a bit of a joke. Blamed by the riotous students for rolling over for the Tories and now being used as a bad news day to cover up for the bankers bonuses announcements. They will never recover there credibility if any they had before the election. They have been used by the Tories and you can imagine Cameron and his public school boy brigade laughing over there breakfast this morning.

sorry, i didn't articulate it well enough. it seems that he spouted off to 2 women who were pretending to be lib dem voters and who were, i guess, pretending to appear 'fond' of cable. and, as anyone will tell you, if one woman, let alone two, shows any form of interest in a bloke he'll say pretty much anything to appear cool and interesting!
foxes or poor people?

the Scottish election's will be the water shed for the libdem's ,so i'm led to believe ,if the get woped out there plus the council elections ,the coalition will lose credibilty, then an autumn election?
but you and I weve been through that and this is not our fate.

What if Vince Cable did walk?
What if the Coalition did break down?
Well, I'm instinctively a Labour man, but I cant see that we've got any organised counter-policies or counter-strategies that will lead the electorate to vote much differently than they did earlier this year.

I remember for a long time when he took over the jibe against him was "what do you stand for apart from hugging hoodies?"
Come to think of it mentioning hugging hoodies, he's now calling student protester's ,or the tuition fee protestors in general as feral youth's no good to anyone .No hugs there Dave ,plenty of hoods though?
but you and I weve been through that and this is not our fate.
