The First Choice Boxing Day Challenge match against Dewsbury Rams remains in doubt, but the Bulldogs refuse to admit defeat on hosting the encounter. Batley General Manager Paul Harrison said on Wednesday: "We will be making a late decision on the game, which will be dependent on how the weather behaves over the next couple of days. The pitch has had sun on it, has been rolled flat and has some give so we're still hopeful but at the mercy of the elements. I'd like to assure all supporters if we can get this game on, we will so keep checking the website for updates". The game is currently scheduled for a mid-day kick off this Sunday.
