Bloody Hell!!
For a minute when I saw your post I thought my cousin Bernard had died!! Still, sad news though as the Wombles have been a highlight of many a childhood over the years.

You're related to Bernard Cribbins? (sp?)

Yes, he's my mothers cousin, so I think I am right in saying (someone will correct me if wrong!) that he is my cousin once removed!
He grew up on the Derker estate in Oldham so he's a Yonner alright biggrin.gif

I used to like the TV shorts on Childrens TV, I used to watch them (and the Magic Roundabout, and Willo'the Wisp) with my kids. But I always thought the Mike Batt Wombling Merry Christmas stuff etc was total ######.

We used to have a sports teacher known as Womble apparently due to him having only half the usual allocation of testicles.

The last government were convinced that we were there to do their bidding. They wasted vast quantities of our money in order to spy on us, intimidate us and needlessly over regulate us, whilst gold plating their own pensions and expenses. Their behind the scenes encouragement of, and turning a blind eye to, the kettling and harrassment tactics of the Police are a shameful episode in our history which we need to remember and address urgently.
