Have no fear, this event will be a roaring success, especially when the RFL's mighty PR, Sales and Marketing teams leverage the broadcast media saturation coverage in the run up top the event.

Fair point, I heard an interview the other day saying you can get slots on ITV now from £1500 and Prime Time (middle of the X Factor final or some tram falling off a bridge etc) comes in at £250,000 you'd have thought somewhere in the middle there'd be something affordable after all if Wigan can do it for a club game................

From a TV viewpoint, they should be doing more to get fans to stay in the stadium to watch all the games. I am always away bank holiday in May so this will be my first MM, but the highlights I have seen on TV look like there are about 10,000 fans in the stadium at times.
Having paid for my ticket, I will watch all 4 games on the Saturday.
Maybe some kind of prize draw mid way through each half that requires you to be in your seat?

Stadium has a roof, probably just as many fans will turn up as they do for the bank holiday version.
Personally, I think this is heading to be the poorest attended yet. It'll be the first one I've missed for a start.

To be fair to the RFL they are trying, its an event thats yet to find its rightful place in the calendar.
IMO it should be second bank holiday in May.

Good for you. Personally couldn't sit through more than three games in a row, which is why I missed Leeds v Wakefield last year.

Bit of a problem since it's normally unreserved seating.

I know we are not supposed to mention it (Rugby Union) here but for the last 40 years around 10-20,000 Scottish, Welsh, English, Irish and French fans have been travelling to all parts in February. The weather is cold, scarves and coats are needed etc. but they keep turning up and the action is often dire. What are we moaning about?

Didn't the RFL do national ads on itv for the world club challenge last season - including one during Corrie, which is one of the more high profile slots on a regular week? Surely it can be done for the Magic weekend as well?

You are not going so the attendance will be poor?????? We are going to see the rugby, not you.
Why May bank holiday? Silly to interupt the season with this one off ficture
Can't sit through more than 3 games in a row? Have those piles looked at, or attend on Sunday instead.
Unreserved seating is irrelevant, they just draw out a seat number and they can easily see if it is occupied. Seen it done at the baseball in the states many times.
Stop looking for reasons to belittle this event. I hope it is wel attended as it looks better on TV to future potential fans. However, if me and my mates are the only ones there, so be it. I know I will enjoy all 4 games.

You're not really that stupid are you to suggest that's what I meant?
I believe that the attendance will be poor for a number of reasons, none of which has anything to do with whether I'm there or not.
QUOTE
Why May bank holiday?
So that people don't have to book time off work if they want to watch all seven games (or get back home at stupid o'clock after the last Sunday one). Because the weather will be better. Because we won't be having to compete with Premier League football and the Six Nations.
QUOTE

It's not interrupting the season and it's not a one-off fixture - it's a full round of league games.
QUOTE

Too much of a good thing. Anyway, how many games each attendee chooses to watch is up to them whether that's one, two, three or four.

As a Warrington fan, I don't want to go on Sunday. And I have other commitments on the Saturday which is why I'm not going at all.

Fair point, but probably better to do it as a "face in the crowd" type thing. Plus it would have to be one heck of a prize to get tens of thousands of people to all be in the seats.
QUOTE

I'm not. I'm pointing out why in my opinion (you can look the word "opinion" up in the dictionary if you want) it's being held at the wrong time of year.
QUOTE

So do I. I would like nothing more than to be proven wrong.

From your previous comments I'd have thought you'd be there for all 7!

I hear there was an advert on ITV tonight sometime between 7 and 8, did anyone see it?
