What's the point in someone responding in English? It's for a Welsh language thing, the person responding needs to be able to speak Welsh. Anyone responding would need to demonstrate they could write Welsh.

If it were something like a breaking story about the Crusaders or Scorpions, it might be odd to post in solely in Welsh but for the purposes of this thread it's pretty logical.

And please, tell the board how anyone who doesn't speak welsh is supposed to know that? Being honest with you, I was thinking from the title it was a bit of gossip from a report on the sport in a newspaper.

I'm not asking for anything more than the decency to make your posts readable for the entire board like everyone else does. In spite of some dramatic accusations of prejudice above I don't think I am being unreasonable at all in this. There are forums across the web for the welsh, including two I can think of dedicated to the crusaders, so it's not like there is nowhere else you can do this.

I don't think you are being unreasonable but for this thread I don't see it as an issue.

You are being deliberately obtuse, and choosing to ignore everything I have put so far. I couldn't even tell they were hiring until it was clarified by someone who translated it. You are being deliberately ignorant because of run ins in the past, and I'm not going to rise to it with you.

I think that this thread, along with many others, proves that jannerboyuk would be more at home on rlfans.

I'm Welsh and cant speak it, though I wish I could.

If it's any consolation, I'm as clueless as the rest of you what they're on about.

Considering you both speak english, this welsh post is just ignorant and unnecessary elitism you know most of us can't. Why don't you take your little in jokes to pm like most of us.

A title that indicated that the thread would be in a language that 99% of us don't understand would have helped.

Realising now that I should've written the title in Welsh too to avoid confusion or as someone said, posted in RLfans who have promoted these kind of postings since Catalans started. It looks like there are less Welsh speakers than I thought here so if a mod can please lock the thread, I'll get my opinions elsewhere. No offence was ever intended obviously.

Where are you based mate? There are a number of Welsh night classes round Wales now. I joined one a couple of years back and not regretted it.

Exactly. Pretty obvious I thought. It was a thread aimed at the posters who can speak Welsh. Unfortunately there's not many of them but hopefully that will change.

I agree it was not that big a deal, but certainly if I was speaking Danish at work, I would switch to English if there was a non-Danish speaker present, regardless of whether it involved them. Then again, that might just have been an excuse to make life easy for myself.

Bulletproof, It was probably an attempt to stop the thread filling up with irrelevant chat from non-Welsh speakers. It did not really work.

Nonsense.

I would rather the forum was not Wendall and yourself alone, personally. Posters such as jannerboyuk add much to the forum.

Hooray for Welsh posts on TRL (possibly with subtitles to be nice to the sensitive).

For some strange reason I know there is a Welsh speaking group in Bradford. He could join that!

Glad that coverage of the GG now encompasses the Welsh language. Further proof, if it were needed, of the increasing popularity of the game in Wales and further vindication that the RFL has made the right decision backing the game in Wales.
