Had a few in my time fuelled with excess booze but not these days. On one occasion, four of us slept in the mates car in the middle of the countryside after enjoying a New Year's Eve party at Rivington barn, Horwich, near Bolton. Definately too much excess all round. Arriving home at eight o'clock in the morning, my mam enquired why I was up so early!!! rolleyes.gif

Went to the Bolton Palace on one occasion which was an eye-opener. With the floor being hollow, it was like dancing on a huge trampoline. Obviously, drinks were banned apart from on a balcony. Great New Year's Eve Party, though.

Many a time I have missed the New Year's Day rugby league match, pre-occupied in wandering round the countryside sobering up. Had some great parties in my time to remember now that I don't drink too much. Happy times minus the stinking headaches. Oh the pain!!!!!!!!!! cool.gif

Do enjoy. biggrin.gif

Well then, I'm off for a small tipple to the in-laws. I wonder how many will be the worse for wear in the morning? :mellow

Anyhow, to one and all best wishes for the new year.

I woke up on a park bench, which I found out after some investigation was in Patricroft. Those who do not know where Patricroft is will appreciate my position.

The stop before Eccles, if it helps.
By train that is.
Or was anyway.
And I suppose it depends which way the train was going, it could be the stop AFTER Eccles.
And still not have a cake named after it.

Thanks John for the correct spelling! cool.gif I'm sure Rivington Barn still puts on dances It attracts a fair number on Boxing Day for the food. As for the Palais, didn't it catch fire?

Regarding the New Year's Eve party, (in the top barn), we woke up surrounded by a flock of curious sheep. biggrin.gif

I remember one New Year's Eve joining in the conga on a beach in Spain.

Given that you live in Massachusetts that must have been one hell of a bender.
