Seeing as they brag so much about their multi tasking abilities, I'm sure they could make a good go of it.
Mind you, I can see some bad injuries coming from accidental impacts with irons though.

My Mum played (union not league) and at Coventry we're proud of having a woman's team as well that won the women's RLC plate last year

Whatever they want! I had the old sexist attitude to women playing football (round ball) until I was playing for Torquay United 5th team* at Shrewsbury Town. On the next pitch to us Shrews ladies were playing Wolves and in all fairness they were miles better than us.

Considering that a large percentage of crowds attending Rl games are of the female sex, then why would it be a surprise they want to give the game a go.
