Like I suspect many on here are, I am a serial procrastinator. Whether it's making numerous cups of tea, taking breaks or browsing the net, it always takes me way longer to do something than it should. It annoys me because there are always things I never find time for mainly because of this.
I live in hope that one day I may break this cycle and to be honest starting a topic on here instead of starting my work isn't the best start.
Does anybody have any instances of where they broke this cycle and how they managed to do it!?

My business partner runs courses and individual sessions for this. Its not cheap though, as she lives in Putney and you'd have to get there. I can PM you details if you wish.

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.
I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try
Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

Thought of loads of tips when I saw the thread title but then I realised you wanted to STOP procrastination so I can't be so much help, though I did manage once by having a couple of days a week with no internet and fit loads in

Wanna start that back up again?
A lot of Yorkshiremen believe that when God created the world, he made it with perfect balance.
He balanced the hot areas with the cold areas. the dry areas with the wet areas.
And, in creating Yorkshire, he created the most glorious place on earth - full of majestic beauty and sporting giants.........and for balance he created....... Lancashire.

making numerous cups of tea
Making tea is not procrastinating. It's life. Everything else is details.

To be boring, the best way is to make a list of things that need doing, including the really small jobs that take two minutes. Start doing the small immediate ones to get them out of the way and then work your way to the bigger ones.

I've offered the professional services of my business partner but if you just want some advice, I have two pices of advice.
1. Why put off until tomorrow things that you don't have to do at all?
2. Make a prioritised " to do" list then go down the list and make sure you do something each day for each item on the list. Don't just do the easiest item first, don't just do the smallest item first, nor the hardest, nor the biggest. Instead make sure you do something, however little, from each task every day.

Yeh there's no harm in taking details.
My problem is that I often manage to beat it for a while only to resort back to old ways soon after.
I'd love to be able to not use the internet but unfortunately I use a computer a lot for my work. I have looked into getting certain sites blocked without a password but cannot seem to find a way to do it that would encompass Chrome, Firefox, Opera and IE.
Essentially it comes down to a battle of will and it's one I often lose.

1. Put on some mucky clothes
2. Promise yourself a pizza if you get it done

I thought you were asking for tips on how to procrastinate before I read your OP. I was about to say, I've got a good few of those.

As fully fledged grade 2 procrastinator (I'm grade 1 qualified but I haven't got round to posting the form yet) I will tell you how I battle it.
1. Motivation follows action. Not the other way round, as most people believe. The hardest part is starting something. One you're up and running and doing things it's usually fine.
2. All big jobs, no matter how big, are really a lot of collected small jobs that have to be done in order. Start on the smaller jobs, and the one above comes into play.
And there's kind of a third as well.
If you're procrastinating that hard and that long that you come on here seeking advice, you probably should be doing something else with your life.

Ask John Drake to ban you and block your email address so you can't beg to return.

The last government were convinced that we were there to do their bidding. They wasted vast quantities of our money in order to spy on us, intimidate us and needlessly over regulate us, whilst gold plating their own pensions and expenses. Their behind the scenes encouragement of, and turning a blind eye to, the kettling and harrassment tactics of the Police are a shameful episode in our history which we need to remember and address urgently. - Haloman

I'm sure there are much more fun ways to get banned than asking to be banned. Then again if you enjoy it too much you might start procrastinating by getting banned
