Ive had some similar at work today, they really are ridiculous at times. One mentioned the players they had out so I mentioned the 4 we are missing plus the rumour of a stand off we are after and he said it didnt matter as we had a better squad so should be able to cope. A matter of minutes later he was arguing that they will finish higher than s because of their BETTER SQUAD. I nearly fell over laughing.

It will take time for a number of Haven fans to realise that their good days are over for a while and in some's case probably they'll never accept it. You have to feel sorry for them that can't or won't see that they are a long way behind where they have been over the past few years but not for those who are also bitter about it towards others, as if it was everyone elses fault except their own club's.

To be fair though there is a number of Haven fans who have been quite fair and above board in their comments.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

we all know haven dont have any songs,or do any cheering,or offer encouragement to there team.in fact over the last 17 years ive supported town they must be the quietest group of fans ive came across.there like utd fans, only see the good in there side, cant admit when beaten by a better team, and judging by the time keeping on monday, just play as long as they want to.

Yes, I noticed the last minute on the clock was on for about five minutes before the hooter went, but the first half finished at 36 minutes on the clock.

The only cheering the Shaven fans did all game was when Carter dropped a bomb, soon went quiet when they knocked on from the scrum though which was amusing.

Come on now some of them have only known some success until last year for the past 4 seasons when they started going to watch the team was doing alright. They are bound to be disappointed. wink.gif wink.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

Absolute classic post from that idiot "red white and blue" on the Haven site.....

QUOTE
thats one thing for sure,no matter how good the mighty town are, the directors wont be wanting them to win many games,i dont think they could afford the win bonus,i hope its not the council tax payers of allerdale dont have to bail them out,and i hope for their sake theres no promotion,or i doubt they,ll need a cricket scorecard every game.
got to be the most bitter fans in the country, well when i say fans,i mean the meagre support that goes there, every home game

He sounds like one of the most bitter fans in the world!!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

"i hate workington town fans with a passion they are the biggest cry babies in rl and boy do they get jealous easy"- Choccy 2012

Come on anok4u they got to two finals and that's when most of their fans started following them. They are not used to what happened last year. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

The idiot red white and blue is a BNP supporter which may explain a lot of his rubbish.
