Danny has joined the Knights after coaching spells with Oulton Raiders, Speaking with press officer Paul Kilbride Danny gave us some of his take on what’s to come. When asked how it feels to be the new Knights coach Danny replied “Feels a mixture of excitement and anticipation along with great pride to be selected as kippax coach. Kippax have always been a very good club producing some great players and lots of them come back to play which proves what a good club it is. I am hoping that I create an environment that allows these players to express themselves. If they do I believe that the team really will compete.” And was the decision something you had to think about for a long time? “I had to think about the job as I don't do things by half. I expect everybody to be committed on the field as off it to make the team and club better. Therefore I need to be as committed. This takes some thinking about. I want us to be successful as we are in it together.” What do you think 2011 will bring for you and the Knights Dan “I am looking for us to improve each week. I think the hardest thing we will have to achieve is to bring together a cohesive unit as a team first, then build our game plan and then add the polish. This may have to happen over the season so if we improve each week and aim to finish in top 4. Then we will be in the mix. I fancy the team we are building to upset a few in the play- offs.”
Knights welcome new era!
