Fridays are preferable for full-time Super League players as it means they can enjoy Saturdays without the prospect of a match hanging over them on the Sunday.
Friday night is no doubt better for the corporate hospitality side of things too; easier for sponsors to entertain clients etc at the end of a normal workday than on a Sunday.
On the other hand, for players who have normal day jobs alongside playing RL part-time I'd imagine Friday night matches are not likely to allow them to give of their absolute best on the pitch. The choice being to either get regular Fridays off work from a sympathetic boss, or turn up feeling a tad fatigued before the match has even kicked off - particularly when your job has a manual element to it.
For the 2011 season presumably it's Salford's choice as to when Swinton play.

Fridays are a problem for me - Saiford have for many years played on a Friday night - I do hope we stick to Sundays.............the result today at Barrow seems encouraging......:)

Dear Pimpernel,
We Jews rarely change religion................and even though I am not as observant as some and more than others, Friday nights are a special family time................having said that in the summer the sabbath starts very late so there would be a chance..........too much detail I guess for the average reader..........:)
In my youth I used to do lots of things on a Saturday - playing open age rugby league being one of them, but Friday nights have always been special.

Also a lot of people have got into the habit of watching football on Sundays, and maybe there being no clash on a Friday might tempt them out? But of course it's all down to personal circumstances.
I suppose the proof of the pudding will be in the eating as far as comparing crowds on a Friday & Sunday are concerned.

This then leaves the rest of the weekend free for attacking that ever increasing list of "things that need sorting out"!!!!
In a few years time though when my kids are a bit older Sunday's will be better as I can bring them along without them being as bored.
I suppose we'll have a mixture of both Fridays and Sundays and to be honest that will probably be the best for me.
