Regardless of personal views of the BNP, does anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable about our political system after viewing this video which was taken at the hustings at the Millgate Arts Centre in Delph.
My own personal opinion is that no matter how odious some may find their views, they are a legitimate political party, and as such others should be willing to debate the issues with them. Interestingly enough the Conservative candidate Kashif Ali seems quite happy to sit next to Mr Adams before the proceedings descend into farce!

an explanation here

The organisers’ statement went on: “The BNP candidate asked for and was given tickets to be part of the audience at the event. Unfortunately, the candidate and his supporters organised a ‘sit in’ protest which disrupted the start of the meeting, their behaviour threatening a breach of the peace. Having repeatedly refused polite requests from the organisers to end their ‘sit in’ protest on the platform and return to their seats in the audience, the organisers had no alternative but to ask the police to escort the BNP candidate and his entourage from the building.”

To be honest, I don't know how the organisers actually managed to find any police! We have more rare birds species here than police, though I have yet to hear a Bittern says," can't help. its a civil matter."
