Just returned from an excellent afternoon centered around the Lions. It was well attended by past players, current players, management and supporters as well as other groups.

It launched the Swinton Lions heritage project which will be a fantastic insight into the history of not only the Lions but also the town of Swinton.

One of the highlights for me was a closing comment made by Councillor Fergusson which went along the lines of " I look forward to returning in two years time but not necessarily here (the town hall) but to the new ground at Agecroft" a comment which was met by nods of approval by messers Antrobus and Lancaster along with the other members sat on the councils table.

That for me gives me a certain glimmer of hope that we just might be nearing a return home and this project will do nothing but assist in that.

I urge every swinton fan to give it there full support.

Thanks also to Ian Jackson for the hard work he has put into getting this project accepted in favour of the Lions.

"Thanks also to Ian Jackson"

Hear, Hear. Well done Ian.

It cannot do any harm to remind the "powers that be" of how great a loss to the community of M27 Station Road was and that the wound is still an open one!

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.
