I fancy this and my dear wife has given me the nod of approval so

Is there a coach running or a mini bus?

How much is the admission Price?

Nothing (Yet) on club website, But I have to plan early at my age!

Come On Oldham!

ps would be happy to contribute to fuel cost if someone has an empty seat!

Here's a little info for you if you are thinking of coming to the match on Saturday.

Admission prices are as Sidnee quoted:

Adults £10

Concessions £5

Children £3

Seating: no extra charge and that applies for all our league and cup fixtures too so if you want to sit, apart from a few reserved seats scattered about feel free to sit where you want.

Bars: Once again, as Sidnee has mentioned the clubhouse will be open from 3.00 and you are more than welcome, also the Blue Lagoon bar under the bottom of the Community stand will be open before the game and at half time, worth a look at some of the old shirts hung up and have a good old fashioned debate on the latest issues with the regulars.

Food, Plenty to eat, behind the main stand and at the Post Office Road end.

Half time draw: £1 per ticket, £2 for three tickets, half the takings awarded to the winner up to £500. This is popular and I would imagine that the prize will be a few hundred (not bad for a friendly, we do sometimes hit the maximum) so well worth a punt.

Shop: We do stock various books and DVD's that aren't Rovers related (No sand dunes in Featherstone book is worth a look at, don't be fooled by the title, it's a generic book not specifically about the club)

Hope you have a pleasent trip across and look I forward to seeing you down there

When I say its been a long time since i`ve been to the fev ground i`m not kidding but I seem to remember a player who may have been on the wing who was outstanding Ikram Butt,(hope the spelling is ok) as usual you beat us on your track which became a fearsome place to go for me as I got whacked with a brolly by a dear old lady, must have been 80...Fev through and Through. Im hopefully bringing a couple of RL Virgins this time...Might just wear my Old ORLFC SL Shirt on top of my warterproofs like they did at Murrayfield last year, could have used a thermal suit up there!
ps I come in peace o octogenarian warriors! tongue.gif

Tip for you.

When you get to the bar, just shout 'beers on me' and you will be the most popular person in the ground laugh.gif

Seriously, fans from all clubs are always made welcome so feel free to get there early and soak up the atmosphere (read that as 'beer' wink.gif )

we have a few first tem squad in there bud so it should be competative..there's huge competition for places at Fev now so they have to perform and get in the driving seat!...enjoy the game and our hospitality cool.gif

Taken from Fev board

HT Fev 18:10 Old

FT Fev 36:10 Old

No further detail at moment

Sounds like a decent first half and then a struggle second half (presumably up the hill!) where their better quality shone through

COME ON OLDHAM!!!! COME ON OLDHAM!!!!!

Oldham team
Heaton
Onyango
Fogarty
Bradbury
Gillam
Roden
Diveney
Boults
Clough
Gilcrist
Isherwood
Wood
Mansfield
Sutton
Wood-Hulme
Walker
Whitmore
Williams
Knight
Ashe

Fev only played 2 recognised first team players, Wellam and Grayshon the rest were reserves with a couple of possible first teamers in there too who have signed recently.

Oldham did play up the slope in the second half but had a strong cross behind them.

I went and It was cold and very very windy though Fev have a nice setup. The Ground and Clubhouse are excellent, fans were friendly and Oldham v Fev grand final was on big screen before match!
Oldham started well against the wind but there was good tempo throughout the game by Fev who had two big lads who both impressed, and we seemed to try and bust it down the middle, and our left side hardly had a touch. we were penalised many times by the ref, I think Neil Roden gave away 4 High tackle penalties, (none of them malicious) and at half time I thought the game was there to win with the wind in our favour.
Sadly the second half came and we were outclassed in every department and although Oldham never stopped trying we were woefully short of ideas and out enthused by what seemed to be largely a reserve squad. And inexplicably we persisted in taking a tap with the wind behind us rather than kick to the corners and let the ball do the work? It wasnt a spectacle the weather put paid to that, and its a "friendly" after all but as a Fev fan who I sat with said..."Gateshead Gave us a better Game."
And after what I saw myself theres a lot of work to be attended to on this showing as the conditions were the same for both sides.
I was also disappointed to pay a tenner to watch Featherstones "second String!" Oldham put out a strong side in comparison!
Do some sides want fans to pay to watch them in warm ups?
There were about 640 who braved the elements!

I was impressed by the Featherstone Dugout arrangements...2 warm down bikes, a mob of people assessing, a very professional looking setup indeed.

Yes he did, but there were only 2 'recognised' first teamers. The other 4 are fringe / squad players who he will look to introduce into the team this year. They were part of last years reserve team, so 6 yes, but actually 2 wacko.gif

Read something on the Fev board that suggests Rats went off and that we had very little ideas on attack after that. Sounds like the same old problem for us and we don't seem to have sorted it again for this season!

We need another quality halfback, how many years have we been saying this though!

Also another comment on their board, that Hemingway was head and shoulders above anyone else and that his kicking game took us apart.

We need to sort this out before the season starts, otherwise I'm afraid its another season as also-rans!

Good first half but faded in the last 20 minutes. Taylor made for a controling kicking game in the second half but guess we need to learn. No points lost. Pleased with new lads, Clough, Gilchrist and Bradbury. Ashe did well also. No points at stake yet and we'll need all the squad if we're to come top. Fans were tops as ever. Let's rally the troops against Whitehaven.
