Anyone know what junior club Tony Myler played for before joining Widnes?
Who are his relatives that played for Widnes?
Did he play for any other clubs than Widnes and Balmain?
What does he do now?

No idea which amateur club he came from but I do remember he often played in the same team as his brother John who was a fullback.

I would agree with that, we could do with him now.
He gave Kenny, Lewis and Fillipaina a run for their money and was never a pushover for anyone.

I think he may have played for Widnes Tigers as well.
I vaguely recall a press release (from BARLA?) stating how virtually all the team which played Australia at Old Trafford in 1986 were BARLA products. Tony Myler was listed as being ex-BARLA.

Here, here. A fantastic player. Rarely tackled in possession of the ball.
Mind you he couldn't stop Barrow beating Widnes in Lancashire Cup Final 1n '83

Who here remembers the Elland Road Test, November '86 - c.30k people playing 'who can say the rudest word?'.

I remember it that well I know GB never played a Test at Headingley in 1986

Terrific player. Didn't seem to have too much pace but that was deceptive. He appeared to float across the ground and made plenty of breaks.
A player I admired greatl and could never dislike, even though he usually was the architect of Hull's defeats when they played Widnes.

On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....
"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

Yep, I was at Elland Road with a load of other people and there was definitely a match on at the time.

Edited for stupidity - senile decay's setting in. Incidentally, I had to switch computers to reply here, as I keep getting a 'function disabled' message when I use the desktop, although it did the edit OK.

Just about the most talented player I've had the pleasure of watching.
Too brave for his own good though and he paid for it with the injuries he suffered.

Watched the Premiership Semi and Final V the 2 Hull clubs around 1981recently I actually did LOL as some of the outrageous things he did against 2 very good and very competitive teams.

Although not quite as graceful and elegant (but equally as damaging) a runner as John Woods, his only serious rival as this country's greatest stand-off over the last 30 years or so, Tony Myler was a haughty, regal figure on the field of play: He combined physical stature and "presence" with exquisitely skilful catching and passing skills and that innate intelligence, feel and vision that meant he was able to dictate the play in a manner given to very few players.
Watching him burst on to the scene alongside Andy Gregory all those years ago - and does anyone know just how many times they played alongside one another? - remains one of the most brilliant and exciting things I've seen in all of sport.
Jonathan Davies, characteristically generous-spirited, was in awe of Myler and keen always to acknowledge the man's genius.
I'm still hopeful that in Sam Tomkins and Kyle Eastmond we might have a half-back pairing finally to rival the aforementioned duo...

Tony Myler - what a player!
In my thirty years of watching the game he was easily the best British Stand Off I've seen. In fact if you needed a blueprint of what a SO should be I would use Tony Myler!
In these media mad days of average players being called "legends", "greats" and "superstars" it's tragic that Tony never got the national recognition his talents deserved.
