Against my better judgement, I decided to heed the calls for a lick of paint to be applied to the old forum, and spent most of Friday night and all day Saturday doing just that. This is the very latest version, so I hope you like it. It seems to work, amazingly enough! I'm sure there'll be the odd glitch and there are still a few tweaks needed to get it fully operational, but they can wait till Sunday. I thought I'd better put it back online in the meantime and not deprive you all of your forum fix for any longer.

For those who have an iPhone, there is a free app in the App Store (search for 'Invision' to find it) which you can download that makes it easy to view and post to the forum from your phone.

Report any bugs you find in this thread, please. Oh, and do vote in the poll!

B) Can't spot any bugs in this thread, John, ignore anyone who does.....

There's 2 emoticons with red crosses on, and the transfer has left a square box where guys have posted "£" signs or other currency units.
If that's any help?

The "get new post" takes me to post 1 on every thread too, but I suppose I can mark the forum as read and resume from there?

Can you pop over to SQL forum, and delete a curiously duplicated thread please?
There's no replies as yet, so either version will do.
You'll see the one (two?) I mean.

Actually, just locked one, so that, or let it drop.
Ta.

Every time there's a change someone comes out with this nonsense.

And the human race would still be living in caves if we'd have listened.

It's a cosmetic change designed to make things more accessible and freshen things up. Quote function doesn't seem to be working right yet though.

EDIT: My own post betrayed me. The quote is working fune now.

I don't know whether all the bells and whistles work, I wouldn't have a clue how to use 99% of them, but it's a bit wishy washy this colour palette. I understand the need for the adverts but it really takes away the focus of what the site is about positioned where it is. Scroll the page down, the header disappears and it could be any old website. Needs a better logo too. However, it is the best discussion site around.

how is it a nonsense quote? if you think a change in design freshens things up for you, are you maybe spending a bit too much time on the computer?

It's alright, well done. But the colour doesn't suit the forum in my opinion. Not bright enough.

It seems good so far. I quite like the new colour scheme. Things have been moved about a bit, so I think it'll take a while to get used to the new layout. So far, so good.

as a traditionalist I am disgusted.
the heart's been ripped out of the forum, and we have been sold down the river and shafted. I suspect Lindsay, Lewis, Wood, Hetherington and Murdoch are behind all this.

Finally, I can post off my iPhone with little problem! So much easier to view things as well, I don't have to scroll across the screen to read a full post (just down!).

One little issue though. There seems to be no quote function on the iPhone version (and if there is, I haven't found it!). Once this gets sorted out, best upgrade ever!...

...until we get a "like" button or a reputation bar! :D

Ooh, I've just noticed that our profile pic is our avatar on the iPhone version as well (not sure if it's the same both ways). And I can't edit a post as well as quote one.
