Secret??
What's the crack there? Was the game confirmed as "On" then changed to "Off"?
Hull KR were here last night from what I gather so it's made no difference on that front

The club announced on Facebook that the game would be on despite the weather. That was the situation until the referee arrived and called it off. The ref was supposed to be T Roby (he reffed our game on TV against Hunslet last season) but I don't know if it was him that called it off or not. I got down there at 1.40pm and it was off then and a lad standing outside wondering what was happening told me he had travelled from Millom!!!
I remember when .............................
"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

Pretty shocking decision making and communication from all involved.
Sure the blame will be directed elswhere but everyone has got to take some responsibility here.
How to lose fans in an instant!!

MAtch was called off by the referee just before 1.00 p.m.
Hull KR team had arrived about one hour prior to that - there were only 4 members of the team plus coach and assistant coach here overnight
STILL Keeping the Faith in more ways than one...though others may fall away.... Oh yes I am

Well what a complete farse that was, people turning up just before kick off having no idea what was going on after we were all told that it was on this morning? so was there no pitch inspection carried out this morning? great way to win fans so people had travelled quite along way to watch today for a 'friendly' Barrow, Millom & Penrith to name a few

rite this was the situation: justin morgan and 4 players stayed last night, he was at the club first thing with charlo and oggy both parties said it was suitable to play on! justin morgan phoned hull kr to tell them to send the players up the referee turned up late took 1 look at it and said thats it its off got in his car and f****d off back to leeds!
so if anyone was at fault it was the referee! Town had all the food prepared all the ground staff sorted. As for the stuff on facebook i was the one who was instructed to post it if i hadnt and it was on everyone would of complained wouldnt they? So the best thing to do was to let people know! As for the fans that had a wasted journey i am very sorry for that but at the end off the day Justin Morgan would not of had his players make that 374 mile round journey if he didnt think it would be on would he???

Thanks for posting the facts.
Sounds a though the ref had decided it was off before he set off!

I don't know if DP gets more sun than the rest of West Cumbria but when i was out walking in the fields just before 1.00 the ground was solid.
