Anyone tell us the score or give us a report on today's Thunder game please.

Was 32-4 at half-time.

Hi Andy.
This reply sort of spans two posts. I think different people look for different things out of the friendlies ( 10 quid by the way, Tony ) and, being a Rugby Laegue fan I decided not to be cheeky and left my media pass in my pocket.
I enjoyed my day up in Gattsheed and particularly the banter from the Thunder fans who teased Wats mercilessly in the second half.
Knights starting lineup was Haynes, Mole, Sutton, Straughier, Wilson, Thorman, Woods, Benson, Gray, Howard, Garside, Barron and Esders.
Thunder: Ellis, Jones, O'Mara, Scott, Joe Brown, Clarkson, Causer, Barron, Bate, Dodsworth, Norman, Hall and Stoker.
Jamie Leahy ( seemingly testing a new whistle) in the middle !!
2. CT high kick to the right collected by Struffer as he outjumped O'Mara. CT missed conversion
6 A short pass saw Matt Garside burst onto it and power through to the left of the posts. CT conversion 10-0
10 Another CT kick to the right and Ry Esders simply brushed off O'Mara as he caught the ball and touched down. CT conversion 16-0
Chris Thorman was completely running the game with new prop Adam Howard ( who looks like Craig Forsyth from a distance ) showing up well.
14 Scott Woods nice chip to the left was dropped behind his line by a Thunder defender and Dave Sutton simply had to drop on it. CT conversion 22-0
18 Danny Wilson forced his way over in right corner after CT cutout pass. 26-0
22 Flare up between Esders and Dodsworth in tackle, both sin binned. Poor reffing as they were sent together and it could have flared up again as they walked off.
24 CT, who had been enduring chants of 'Youre not very good' from the home fans, simply mesmerised the Thunder defence to dance through under the posts. CT conversion 32-0
32 Olugbode took a long pass from young Clarkson ( who I'm sure was the same Clarkson who impressed me watching Cas Panthers last season ) and scored on the right 32-4
36 Knights defence fell for a sucker punch as Thunder went to very short blind side for Jamie Love to go in at the corner 32-8
Thunder made a lot of changes bringing on more experienced players like Ryan Clarke, Dave Bates, Robin Peers, Nick Staveley and Jason Payne. Tom Hodgson was also down to play in the second half but, with all due respect to Hoddo, I don't remember seeing him.
On for the Knights were Stampy, Wats, Ben Jones, Mark Barlow, Sam Lynch, Ed Smith, Jack Stearman,Jonny Presley and later Davey Burns. Jord Rice also had a run spanning half time.
45 Thunder line move to right saw Morris crash in and touch down despite three tacklers 32-12
54 Ry Esders sin binned for dissent - kicking the ball away. He knocked the offered water bottle out of Rhys Clarke's hand and Dave Woods signalled for him to go to the dressing rooms but he remained sat on the bench.
57 A concise Presley pass to Wats saw him burst through three tackles to score on the left wing 36-12. Wats missed the conversion to the derision of his Thunder fan club.
60 Dodsworth also sinbinned for a second time for a high tackle on Burnsie.
63 Knights attack left and Wats gets Dan Mole over in the left corner 40-12. Wats conversion hits the far post and comes out.
67 Paul Stamp fires a pass to Presley 20m out and he accelerates away from defence to score on left. Wats misses again. 44-12
76 A little grubber kick from Thunder is collected by Wats who goes 60m to score to the left of the posts. He is spared the kicking duties but Dan Mole hits a post witha pretty easy kick 48-12.
Had a little natter to Lee Paterson, who is back from France and looking for a club. Enjoyed his time at Carpentras and says French rugby is pretty tough.
Impressed by Matt Garside, young Howard, the usual suspects ( CT, Benno, Stampy ) Ben Jones and Presley. Particularly Mark Barlow who goes about his work very well, constantly prompting the side forward and a tidy kicking option.
Matt Barron looked like he got a bad injury and Dave Sutton took a heavy knock too.
My team for Sunday..
Haynes, Tuffour, Straughier, Waterman, Wilson, Thorman, Presley, Freer, Lee, Benson, Garside, Rice, Esders
Subs. Stamp, Jones, Barlow, Stearman.

Cheers Andy, feel like I've been at the game Reading your report.
Sounds like a decent runout, Howard sounds like a good un, if he's half as good as Craig then that will do for me.
Gonna be tough next week but it's not about the NRC, we need to use this comp to fine tune the style of play and set plays and defensive patterns.
It's going to be a tough season but I'm sure with Dave at the helm and a team full of eager, young players that we can shock a few and do ok.

Thanks for the report Andy - didn't make it yesterday & judging by
DW's thoughts in the Press today, might have been the right game
to miss. Sounds like the Matt Barron injury could be serious, but
everyone else should be ok for this coming Sunday.

Other thing, mentioned in Press & one RL paper, trying to sort
a visa for Aussie centre, currently playing in France.
Not overly confident due to the visa stuff, but really hope we
can get this sorted, seems like he knows where the try line is
and has played in some good company in the last 3 seasons (and
as 2 Blues would say, would add some female members to the crowd!!)

If it's who I think it is, it'll be hell of a signing. Not many players in the Championship have played first grade NRL at all, never mind 25 times for Canberra.

Simon - if you look in the correct 'area', don't think me or you would
want to be stood next to him in the bar after a game......

I've looked him up on Google, and it seems like there's more about him getting his knackers out for girly calendars than actually playing rugby.

Correct - did find a rugby bit & he was in the starting line up,
but Michael Dobson only made the bench.
