It would be nice to think that common sense would prevail and that some of those footy fans might decide it's far cheaper and more entertaining to watch rugby league but, sadly, in most cases it won't happen.
In the mind of the average football fan, the bigger the wages and transfer fees, the more kudos that attaches to his particular club and the more he will strive to afford his ridiculously overpriced yet prized season ticket.

Totally agree with your comment on the value of watching rugby league and the entertainment it's just trying to get more people to recognise there's more to life than the greed of football but to the unconverted it's more like a religous thing, I'm of the believe that people will pay money if you offer the right product and they see that they are getting value for thier money it's not rocket science to offer a entrance fee that comes in everybodies range it's far better to get 500 people paying £10pounds than 350 paying £13pounds, it's like the old cliche stack em high sell it low, there's the old sales saying you'll only sell rubbish once not twice. It would be nice to think that common sense would prevail and that some of those footy fans might decide it's far cheaper and more entertaining to watch rugby league but, sadly, in most cases it won't happen.

I've got a season ticket for both YCK and Liverpool. I've had both for many years but i'm seriously considering not bothering next season with my Ticket for Anfield as the value for money within the round ball game is just not worth the cost....£750 this season and already been told that another £30 is likely to go onto the cost for 2011/12.
The game is just totally dominated by greed, cheating, scandal and the desire for money, there is no loyalty in the game or a sense of belonging, just look at Fernando Torres, here is a bloke that was earning £120,000 a week and yet when you sat at Anfield you could tell he simply was not interested in playing for the club as his lack of effort and commitment and desire, were lacking in the last 18 months. What really bugs is the fact that your paying nearly £50 a week to watch players like him but get very little back in return, that is something you can't say about a Rugby League player.
Week in week out they are knocked seven bells of ###### around, playing with injuries, but still giving 100% effort and commitment and all this while most are having to work and then do a few sessions a week training.... and all for what? a couple of hundred quid at our level.
Our players in League deserve so much more reward, but what with the countrys public, press and TV's total obsession with the game of football, League is always going to play second fiddle to the over paid prima donnas, i'm sorry to say.
For value for money and pure entertainment you simply can't beat a game of League, it really is the "greatest game", it's very rare you see a poor game of League.
The only real big downside point that League lacks is Atmosphere in the grounds, you can't beat Football for big match noise, if you've ever experienced Anfield,Old Trafford,St James park or even Elland Rd on a big game night in Europe or the League you'll know what I mean, it can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and I've never ever felt that at a rugby match.
All in all, you'd hope that League could maybe catch a few fans of football that are fed up and looking for a change that would be fantastic, the clubs and the players deserve more fans through the gates, they also deserve more press inches as well, but most of all they all deserve better wages when judged against there football counterparts, it's a shame there isn't the money in the game to give them it.

I too like my football but i refuse to sit or stand to watch negative play, yes you can still get poor rugby league games but it's a totally different type of feeling for the oval ball game, football is all about jobs for the so called boys look at the games pundits ie MR Gray&Mr Keys both on over a million pounds a job that alot of Joe Public and in fact women could well do at a lot less money and still have a good life style,I have to say the likes of ROONEY, TORRES,GERRARD,LAMPARD or any other of these high rollers that earn mega bucks could any of them help a child with a fatal illness or set a broken leg,no I doubt they can but the professionals that can don't get any where near what these pampered prima donna's get, thats why I no longer contribute to thier lavish lifestyle, yes I have visited ANFIELD, OLD TRAFFORD, GOODISON,ELLAND RD,ROKER PARK, WEMBELY,and a few more but that was when games were a realistic price.I've got a season ticket for both YCK and Liverpool. The sport is totally corrupt.
The relationship involving Kenny Dalglish, the agent Paul Stretford, and the use of London criminals the Adams brothers relating to Rooney, made public the connection between managers and their shareholdings in the agents business.( Hence certain transfers )
While the top league has lots of money from television deals, the lesser clubs struggle.
Steven Vaughan, who temporarily destroyed Widnes RLFC and then Chester FC is now involved with purchasing Wrexham FC,without the stadium on which the RFL have a charge. One of the front men has links with property developers and the battle-hardened Wrexham fans fear asset-stripping and money laundering.
If you have any spare time reading RED PASSION forums makes good reading.
Searching Dalglish - Rooney - Stretford - Formation - Adams brothers or investigative journalists Dave Conn or the book Broken Dreams by Tom Bower
gives an insight into the dodgy dealing.
I was quite pleased with the atmosphere at the Halliwell Jones Stadium the last time York City Knights were there.Be nice to have similar followings home and away as from Sunday.
